It looks like 2024 is shaping up to be the year of survival games. Developer Keen Games has recently added a new entry to this genre by launching Enshrouded - a survival game with some crafting and action RPG elements.
Having said that, as is often the case in such games, Enshrouded will have you scour the open world in search of some much-needed resources to build your own house, craft new equipment, and so much more.
One of the most important resources in the game is Hardwood. If you are looking for a guide that tells you how and where to farm the said resource, then you have come to the right place!
What is It?
Hardwood is a special type of wood in Enshrouded that is not found in the early areas of the game. Instead, you will find them abundantly once you reach the middle point of the campaign.
Anyway, Hardwood is used in a variety of crafting recipes. Do you want to build a polished wooden bench for your home? Well, you need some Hardwood for that!

Where to Find Hardwood
When you have reached the midpoint of Enshrouded, you will encounter huge trees with some thick green vines growing around their neck. These contain the Hardwood you are looking for. You cannot miss these trees because they are pretty massive.
If you want to know the best place to find these trees, head to the Farmer's Ancient Vault and go right until you come across a slope that leads to a shroud-filled area. The said slope is riddled with humongous trees that you can chop down for some pieces of Hardwood.
How to Get Hardwood
Now that you've found a nice spot to farm Hardwood, how exactly do you get this useful resource? Well, you can chop down the massive trees using an axe. While you can do it with a normal axe, it is best that you craft a Felling Axe specifically for this purpose.
The Felling Axe can be crafted at the Blacksmith using a String, some metal scraps, and a piece of Shroud Wood.
