OnLive CloudLift Subscription Price Lowered to Just $7.95 Per Month, New Games Added to Service

OnLive has lowered the price of its game streaming and save-syncing service CloudLift, cutting the price in half to $7.95 per month.

Cloud service pricing in general has been getting even more competitive than it was as of late, with several companies slashing costs. Google recently dropped the prices on several Drive subscription models, offering increasingly larger amounts of data for even less money.

CloudLift isn't exactly a data storage service in the same vein as Google Drive, but one that uses cloud syncing to allow players to access their game saves on multiple machines.

When you're playing a game on your home computer, for example, you can save your data to CloudLift for use elsewhere. If you need to travel somewhere later and only take your laptop with you (or have a chance to play at a friend's house on their computer), you can load your save from home on their machine through CloudLift and continue where you left off. If you save your file again, it will sync and be available when you're back on your computer.

The service uses OnLive's remote servers to process the game (which is the main purpose of OnLive), so it won't matter if your laptop or friend's computer is not as powerful as the one you play on at home.

OnLive is also adding five new titles that will work with CloudLift: Lego The Hobbit, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Lord of the Rings: War in the North and Shadow Warrior. With the price of CloudLift dropping, now's a good time to subscribe if this service could help you in situations like the one I described.
