Battlefield 2042 players will be able to use the YUV-2 Pondhawk in the Battlefield Portal via a new update that is slated for release tomorrow, January 16.
Take Flight
Introduced as part of Season 6: Dark Creations, the YUV-2 Pondhawk is a flying vehicle in Battlefield 2042 that allows players to carry one passenger to any point on the map. This is perfectly suited for "Capture the Flag" game modes, especially when players have to take certain points to get the upper hand.
Although it is not equipped with offensive weapons, players can utilize it to ping certain locations on the minimap for their squads to follow. Those who pilot this flying transport vehicle can also utilize its smoke capabilities to avoid enemy defensive countermeasures.
That said, DICE is going to deploy Update 6.2.1 on January 16. This is a small update that brings the YUV-2 Pondhawk to the Battlefield Portal. Once the said patch drops, players can use the flying transport in Portal's Custom Conquest, Air Superiority, and Ground Superiority game modes.
While it is good that the company is going to make the YUV-2 Pondhawk available in Battlefield Portal for players to enjoy, it seems that DICE has some fixing to do.
According to Redditor G3neral_Tso, there is a bug where spotting an enemy Pondhawk would sometimes not work as intended. Another user chimed in that the system would occasionally deem the enemy Pondhawk as an open vehicle despite having someone in the passenger seat.
Hopefully, DICE will address these concerns before the YUV-2 Pondhawk arrives in the Battlefield Portal.
