This is of course starting console wars all over the internet over whether it's a "sincere" statement or not, but Sony Computer Entertainment President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida has given some genuine praise to Microsoft's appointment of Phil Spencer to the head of the Xbox division.
Veteran game journalist Dan Hsu recently had dinner with Yoshida, and issued a tweet quoting him as saying "It proves Microsoft is smart. He's the most human guy there."
To which the internet is now saying, "Well what's THAT supposed to mean?!" because the internet can never just be happy with two competitors being gentlemen. Reading through the responses to Hsu's tweet gives you a glimpse at fanboyism at its best, with people speculating on just how "genuine" that compliment was.
First off: The guy's Japanese. Meaning if he was speaking in English, he might have had a hard time expressing himself properly, or if he was speaking in Japanese, Hsu gave the literal translation. Oh, and secondly, Hsu gave some context saying that Yoshida's comment came from "casually chatting over dinner." So something tells me that these two companies just actually, legitimately have a mutual respect for one another at the moment.
This comes on the heels of Spencer admitting that he plays PS4 (GASP) last week, which of course started a whole 'nother argument in itself.
"It proves Microsoft is smart. He's the most human guy there." - genuine praise from @yosp on @XboxP3's promotion to new Xbox boss.

Just like I said last week, I love the fact that these guys are being gentlemen to each other. The Xbox and PlayStation fanboy divisions are always in full force, but it's good to see that the guys actually in charge of what goes on at Microsoft and Sony are willing to play nice.
