Genshin Impact players who have been clamoring for a better way to manage their Artifacts in a jiffy will be happy to know that a "custom loadouts" feature may be implemented in the game's next major update.
Custom Loadouts for Artifacts?
Artifacts in Genshin Impact are items that provide useful bonuses that improve the players' characters in a number of ways. They come with a main affix and several minor affixes, allowing for some really fun and exciting combinations.
There are five different types of Artifacts, including the Sands of Eon, Goblet of Eonothem, Circlet of Logos, Plume of Death, and Flower of Life. Goblet of Eonothem, for example, is a difficult Artifact to get some great stats on simply because of the sheer number of affixes that it can have.
That said, players will come across plenty of useless Artifacts that populate their inventories over time. Because of this, the community has been asking developer HoYoverse to implement a feature that will help them weed out the unimportant Artifacts and only leave those that are worthwhile.
Recently, a video showcasing what appears to be a custom loadout feature for the Artifacts system was leaked on Reddit. In the video, players can set certain parameters, such as the main affix, set type, minor affix, and whether the Artifacts that will be shown are equipped or not.
Once these options are filled out, players can then generate a loadout that shows the Artifacts they can use. If they are not satisfied with the loadout, players have the option to generate Artifacts again. However, if all is good, players can use the ones that have been presented with a simple tap of the aptly named "Equip" button.
The custom loadout feature is rumored to be released in Update 4.4, which is coming sometime in January of next year.

Too Late for That
While a custom loadout feature for Artifacts in Genshin Impact has delighted some players, there are those who are saying that it is a tad too late.
Redditor @Sleykun jokingly said that the company should no longer implement custom loadouts simply because it is "three years too late."
Another Redditor was baffled that HoYoverse did not add loadouts for the Artifacts System sooner, especially considering that the company's other title, Honkai Impact 3, had it for quite some time now.
Redditor @MuffinLoL is a bit skeptical about the upcoming feature mainly because they only had the video as a basis with no further explanation from the company. They said that the feature might be useless if all it does is save loadouts per character instead of making the Artifacts available for all characters to equip.
This sentiment is echoed by another Redditor who said that the feature is nothing like the one that has been highly requested by the player base for a few years at this point.
All of the doubts surrounding custom loadouts will be answered once HoYoverse releases the official patch notes for Update 4.4, hopefully, very soon.
