Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged now has full support for cross-platform play thanks to a new patch that was just released.
Cross-Platform Support
Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged is a racing game that lets players use any vehicle from the brand's impressively huge collection. The game can be played on multiple platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Recently, developer Milestone Studios launched a new update that adds support for Cross-platform play (aka cross-play). As its name implies, the feature enables players to enjoy the game with their friends no matter which platform they are on.
Those who are interested in trying out cross-play must link their console or Steam accounts to their Epic Games accounts to enjoy the feature.
Players can link their accounts by first going to the Epic Games website and hovering over their display names. After going to "Account," they will find "Apps and Accounts" on the left side of the UI. Clicking that will present players with the games they have in their library. Search for Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged and click "Connect Account." Then, just follow the on-screen prompts and they should be good to go!

Other Features
Cross-play is not the only feature that was implemented in the new update. Milestone Studios also added "persistent lobbies" into the game. This is a feature that has been highly requested by the community since Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged was released. Basically, in-game lobbies will no longer be dismantled if they have at least four players waiting for the next race. Thanks to this, players no longer have to go search for new lobbies, which can be a huge pain at times.
The company has added support for Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for PlayStation 5 players as well. This allows those on the PS5 to enjoy smoother frame rates without any user intervention.
