Released on November 8, 2023, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by SEGA.

As mentioned, it is a spin-off of the Like a Dragon series, and the game actually takes place during the events of Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The story of the game follows the series' original protagonist, yakuza Kazuma Kiryu, who had to fake his own death and changed his name in order to protect his family.

Now going by the codename "Joryu," he finds himself in the middle of a conflict that threatens to drive him out of hiding.

A Lot of Action and Immersive Experiences

Like with any Like a Dragon or Yakuza game, there is a lot of action happening in Like a Dragon Gaiden. Players will be given gadgets that can be used during combat.

Players can likewise expect a number of immersive experiences while playing the game. According to its Steam page, Like a Dragon Gaiden allows players to explore the world of the game and interact with a number of things. Players can sing on the karaoke, brawl in a secret battle arena, and even unwind at a cabaret club.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name has more than 5,800 user reviews on Steam as of press time. These reviews are generally described by the platform as "Overwhelmingly Positive." 

Steam user Uchababa says in a review calls the game "an amazing love letter to fans of Kiryu."

"Cried manly tears at the end," says user Ricky Pee Pee in a separate review. "Now I gotta play all the previous Yakuza games to find out how this chad of a man got to this point."
