Excited to play the next title by Digital Extremes? If so, you might want to sign up for Soulframe's pre-alpha development build, which will be launching sometime in December.
Pre-Alpha Release
Before anything, Digital Extremes is a development company that was responsible for creating one of the most popular online multiplayer third-person shooter games, Warframe. In a recent livestream, Digital Extremes CEO Steve Sinclair said that Soulframe is going to be available to select individuals who want to try the very early build of the game
If that has somehow piqued your interest, you can actually sign up to playtest the pre-alpha build. However, there are some key details you need to know about before enlisting.
First of all, playtesting the Soulframe pre-alpha is only available for those who have PCs that have respectable specs. This is understandable considering that performance optimization is not the aim of such an early development build. You might need a relatively new graphics card, ideally one that supports raytracing. Given that the playable demo will be released in December, Digital Extremes might post the actual system requirements soon.
If you're confident that your PC can handle this beautiful 3D game, then you may want to sign up for their early "Envoy Title" by going to Soulframe's official website. Remember, invites follow a "first come, first served basis," so be sure to be quick in reserving a spot. That said, invites to the game's pre-alpha build will be sent via email.
Sinclair added that about 100 people can playtest the game to their heart's content. However, that number will eventually grow as the development continues.
Take note that if you are going to sign up for an invite, you have to be willing to test everything the game has to offer and provide meaningful feedback. Sinclair reiterates that only those who are serious about playtesting should sign up to secure their Envoy Titles. If you do not intend to give any information back to the development team, then it's best that you just wait for an open beta that may arrive later next year.
Now, if you do enlist for playtesting, you will have a chance of petting this majestic (and giant) white wolf.

About the Game
Unlike the frenetic third-person shooter Warframe, Soulframe takes on a different approach. The game is a fantasy MMO that puts a huge emphasis on melee combat. Sinclair said in an interview that the goal of Soulframe is to be the exact opposite of Warframe in that the game will be "slow and heavy."
Aside from that, the game will have a huge hub, similar to other massively multiplayer online games like World of Warcraft or Guild Wars 2. You can expect a major focus on exploration as well. "I'm chasing that 'short session but high immersion' thing where you sign in and you come out of your yurt and you are where you last signed off," Sinclair said.
The pre-alpha testing build for Soulframe will launch in mid-December. So, are you going to get your Envoy Title soon?
