Season 1 of the first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III won't be out until December, but Activision has already revealed the new content that players can expect, including new maps and updates to Zombies Mode.
New Maps
In a recent blog post, Activision provides a glimpse of the new maps that are coming to Modern Warfare III this December. There are three new 6v6 maps that will join the rotation - Meat, Greece, and Rio.
"Meat" looks pretty compact and it's likely a great map for those who want to get in on the action as soon as possible.
"Greece," as the name implies, takes players into a lovely Mediterranean-inspired map situated on a coastal town. This map is considerably bigger than Meat, enabling players to take advantage of key points of interest to take their competition out.
Those who want to take their fight in a sprawling upscale shopping center might want to try the new Rio map when it comes out later this year. It has everything that players want, such as tight quarters for intense close-quarters combat, and bright-colored streets that make black-suited players easy to spot for the kill.
Both Meat and Greece maps will be immediately available when Season 1 of Modern Warfare III launches on December 6. Although there is no release date for the Rio map yet, it is possible that it will be introduced a couple of weeks later.

Gunfight Returns
A popular game mode is making a comeback in Modern Warfare III. Gunfight is famous for its high-octane action.
For those who are new to the game, Gunfight is a 2v2 mode where two teams try to eliminate each other by using randomized loadouts. Every two rounds, the weapons that players use will change into entirely different ones. There might be rounds where players engage in long-range combat using sniper rifles, and there are rounds where they will be up close and personal with shotguns in hand.
Each round has a 40-second limit. If none of the teams get eliminated, the game goes to overtime and a flag will spawn somewhere on the map. Players must do their best to get a hold of the flag or kill the opposing team to win. If no teams were decimated after the overtime period, the group with the most health is victorious.
With that said, players might engage in Gunfight at the Training Facility, which is a map that will be available when Season 1 arrives.
Zombies Story Continues
Those who like Modern Warfare III Zombies Mode will be ecstatic to find out that a new end-game experience will be added in Season 1. After completing the seasonal mission, players can enter portals known as the "Dark Aether Rifts." Here, they will have a short amount of time to complete objectives before they head out, hopefully, with their sanity still intact.
Aside from the Dark Aether Rifts, players can utilize a modified version of the V-R11 Wonder Weapon where enemies that are hit by its beams will be turned into allies. This weapon can certainly change the tide of battle, especially if players find themselves in a rough spot.
