The first season of MultiVersus is set to release on August 15 and if you are one of the people interested in this free-to-play game, there are a couple of things you should know first.
One of the things you need to know is that each character is the game's roster falls under a particular character class. Currently, there are five character classes and some of the classes have more characters under them than the rest.
Here's what you have to know about the character classes in MultiVersus:
A Quick Guide to the MultiVersus Character Classes
As previously mentioned, there are five character classes in MultiVersus. These are:
Assassin
According to the article by The Loadout, "The Assassins in MultiVersus are all about using tools within their arsenal and making the most of their mobility." The characters in this class are all about dealing more damage to opponents.
As of press time, the characters classified under the Assassin class are:
- Arya Stark
- Finn the Human
- Harley Quinn
Bruiser
Many sources describe Bruiser characters as "frontline fighters" in MultiVersus. Per The Loadout, this class has more flexibility in comparison to the Tank class (we'll talk about this class later) and they like to fight up close.
The Bruiser characters in the game, as of writing, are as follows:
- Batman
- Garnet
- Jake the Dog
- LeBron James
- Morty
- Shaggy
Mage
According to Dot Esports, characters under this class "will always provide cover fire for their teammates and distract the opponent." These characters like to keep their distance when attacking and typically use their weapons to their advantage.
Dot Esports, however, cautions that it may take time for players to learn the tricks of the characters under this class, which include:
- Bugs Bunny
- Rick
- Tom and Jerry

Support
As its name suggests, this class is all about healing, shielding, and even providing buffs. However, given that, you should expect that these characters are unable to deal as much damage as the rest:
Support characters include the following:
- Reindog
- Steven Universe
- Velma
Tank
Last but certainly not the least, Tank characters are those that are "harder to ringout," according to Dot Esports. Characters under this class can deal damage as easily as they can tank them. However, they are unable to escape attacks as easily as the rest.
Among the characters under the Tank class are:
- The Iron Giant
- Superman
- Wonder Woman
