Nintendo Reveals 'SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake' In Latest Gameplay Trailer

In the latest gameplay trailer, Nintendo announces a new SpongeBob SquarePants game to splash into the game console soon. In the sneak peek video, SpongeBob, along with his star best friend Patrick, seem to travel in different locations and timelines, going on some quest. The upcoming game will be called 'SpongeBob SquarePants: The Comic Shake.'

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Share Is Coming Soon to Nintendo Switch

This surprising announcement was first released by the Nintendo of America Twitter account in the form of a Twitter post with the game's first gameplay video. The post also mentioned that the new game would let players explore seven distinct worlds and try on more than 30 cosmic costumes. In this new SpongeBob game, the player will be tasked to save the universe in this brand-new Nintendo adventure game.

In a report from TechTimes, it is said that 'SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake' is another game running on 3D graphics instead of the 2D version in the TV cartoon series. This follows another SpongeBob title, "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run," based on the latest movie.

At the start of the video, we see our favorite underwater duo going about in a large fancy room. In just a few moments, SpongeBob realizes that his pet snail Gary is at the center of the room. We could see Gary looking menacingly at a distance. What happened to him? He looks a lot bigger, has horrifying big teeth, and wears a gold crown while sitting on his throne with a bunch of candies and chocolate bars. Our ever-yellow protagonist travels the room to save Gary from the scary situation he is in now.

In the next scene, we see SpongeBob and Patrick as cavemen holding Squidward's infamous clarinet. They probably traveled back in time to the prehistoric era. For what reasons, it is not clear. What happens next is that caveman and some other cavemen abduct Squidward. The two are now pursuing bringing back their favorite neighborhood squid.

The next clip brings us to what looks like an underwater volcano steaming hot with lava and infested by sea bears. SpongeBob goes on to pass several obstacle courses involving a dirt track and some carnivorous plant trampolines.

This new game from Nintendo is jam-packed with action as we also see SpongeBob in his karate head gear going about in a metropolis knocking out some enemies. Then we see our favorite patty flipper parachuting over a Wild Wild West-themed landscape using a pizza box and then in China-town. Watch cowboy SpongeBob ride a sea horse over an arid prairie.

According to Nintendo Everything, the game will enable players to unlock classic and new platforming skills like the Fishhook Swing and Karate Kick. Just like what it said in the Nintendo tweet, players can do more than 30 F.U.N.tastic costumes like SnailBob and SpongeGar.

The game will also introduce the player to very immersive WishWorlds like Wild West Jellyfish Fields and the Halloween Rock Bottom. The game will also feature 101 soundtracks from the series, including Sweet Victory. And lastly, wait for it. All your Bikini Bottom buddies will be voiced by their original actors.
