Kirby's Dream Buffet Is Coming Soon: Release Date Revealed in the Latest Trailer

Kirby's Dream Buffet is coming next week.

Our favorite pink ball of cuteness is back with a new Nintendo game. In a recent video, Nintendo revealed to the public that a new Kirby video game will be coming very soon, and it will be called 'Kirby's Dream Buffet.'

In the short trailer from Nintendo, we can see Kirby running around a racetrack covered with cake and other sweet treats. Along with some other Kirby's, they go about the landscape covered in cake batter and cream to munch strawberries found along the tracks.

In a report by Comicbook, Kirby's Dream Buffet was actually announced last July. When Nintendo first announced the game, the game console giant did not yet share any information about its release date and pricing.

Nintendo's Favorite Puffball Is Back for a New PvP Game

It is unclear whether footage from the video is from the actual gameplay. What's certain is that the new game involves a lot of food-related games and challenges. We were also able to see racetracks blocked by biscuits or chocolates, and most importantly, eating makes the Kirbys inflate to a really big size.

Kirby's Dream Buffet looks like a dessert-themed Fall Guys sister game, except that Kirbys of different colors will be the ones going through cake-laden maze and challenges. Also, did I forget to mention it? This new game featuring Nintendo's favorite puffball is another multiplayer party game that everyone will surely enjoy. The video trailer hints at new PvP games, races, and challenges.

From what we have seen from the trailer, the gameplay revolves around eating strawberries and making the Kirbys the biggest and heaviest possible. The more strawberries Kirbys eat, the larger and heavier they get. This means that the biggest Kirby can roll fast downhill and will reach the sweet finish line the soonest. The heaviest Kirby to smash the scales will be the winner.

As seen in the Nintendo trailer, the game also involves a new feature called Copy Food. Copy Food abilities will be triggered when a Kirby eats a certain food with a powerup. This Copy Food ability will help individual players boost their chance of winning races and challenges.

Winning races can help your Kirby access really cool costumes and designs. Screenrant elaborates that spending strawberries outside of matches will unlock rewards. These include Kirby character outfits and colors, some of which are similar to the character costume customization options in Fall Guys, as well as Character Treats. There are also pedestals with Kirby character artworks that can be utilized as a starting point at the start of a challenge.

Kirby's Dream Buffet Is Coming on August 17

The new Kirby game's release date and Japanese price were announced alongside the Kirby 30th anniversary music festival. Techradar tells us that the pink puffball will return to the Nintendo Switch later this month following the release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land earlier this year. Midway during the Kirby 30th Anniversary Concert, a brief trailer aired revealing the game's price and release date as August 17. The game is priced at USD$ 16.50.

Mark your calendars now and catch this newest Kirby game from Nintendo!
