xQc Comments On Shroud's Pro Valorant Debut: 'I Don't Miss'

Shroud's Return To Competitive Play Isn't Enough To Impress xQc, Apparently

Polarizing streamer and former esports pro Felix 'xQc' Lengyel were among the folks that tuned in to the return of Michael 'Shroud' Grzesiek to competitive play. But safe to say, Lengyel wasn't impressed.

According to DotESports, xQc wasn't particularly fond of Shroud's performance at the recent North America Last Chance qualifier. Even if the FPS legend did turn out to be his old head-clicking self, xQc popped up in the tournament stream's chat claiming that he'd do better than Shroud in the same situation. His exact words were, "I'm just going to say it like it is. I don't miss OP shots. Haven't missed ever. I would clap these noobs!"

Many folks thought this was an extremely bold claim, but the streamer looks to be standing by his statement. This is considering how xQc actually has far less experience playing Valorant compared to Shroud. The latter has reportedly streamed Riot Games' popular hero shooter for over a thousand hours now, according to Twitch Tracker.

Playing a game for that amount of time is no joke, and considering somebody of Shroud's caliber, he learns from his mistakes and improves way faster than the average guy - perhaps beyond the capabilities of other popular pro gamers and streamers. xQc, on the other hand, has only streamed the game for around 300 hours since 2020. One could say that he might've been playing on his own without streaming it - but that would be reaching.

Either way, Grzesiek's return to competitive esports is one of the industry's biggest stories. Shroud's Valorant debut as a pro, while ending in a loss, showed that he was never out of his game even if he's been retired since 2018. Here are a few highlights from the Sentinels' match against The Guard, which includes a highlight reel 3X:

Shroud joined the Sentinels only recently and his addition was announced via a Twitter video: one that earned an insane over six million views on Twitter (via PC Gamer).

Is xQc In Over His Head With These Claims?

Some fans may say that Lengyel's comments on Grzesiek's performance are nonsense. But while he's fairly controversial, xQc is no slouch of an FPS gamer as well.

Before he went full-time as a streamer, Lengyel played in the Overwatch League from its inaugural season in 2018 - having begun pro level play two years prior. He was a tank main for the Dallas Fuel, and before that was a former Overwatch World Cup MVP in 2017. He was dismissed from the Fuel due to repeated suspensions and controversies, which led him to pursue streaming full-time.

So one could say that xQc is an extremely skilled FPS player on his own right. However, one could argue that Shroud is on another level and has been in the esports scene a little longer. He is also constantly referred to as one of (if not the) most talented FPS players in the world, and for good reason.
