In light of the recent issues involving its CEO Bren Chong, powerhouse esports organization Bren Esports released a statement today saying 'the truth will prevail' amid Chong's involvement in a botched $32-million deal of illegal drugs.
The team's latest statement reads, "We have recently been made aware of the alleged issues regarding our CEO, Bernard Chong. As we gather more information about the situation, we wanted to assure the community and industry partners that Bren Esports continues to uphold our core values."
The esports organization added that they provide the best working environment to develop their athletes and employees. And in response to the latest allegations pointed at the team's owner and CEO, the team believes that 'the truth will always prevail."
Bren Esports CEO Chong Categorically Denies Involvement in Drug Deal
In a report collated by Rappler, they shared that Chong established Bren Esports in 2017 and has since fielded top teams in a variety of games, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, where they took home the M2 World Championships in Singapore in January. Other games that he has fielded elite teams in include Valorant, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Counter-Strike, and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Yesterday, Chong posted a thread on Twitter denying his involvement in a multi-million busted drug deal. In the short thread, Chong categorically denies claims that he is part of the horrendous scheme. Chong also stated that these recent claims may destroy the name that 'he taken cared of for so many years.'
The esports CEO added in his statement that aside from running an esports organization, he is also an investor and entrepreneur who invests in companies, startups, and ideas that he believes have great potential. He ends his statement by expressing that he believes in a justice system that protects the innocent, and he goes on to hope that his statement clarifies existing doubts about him. Amid CEO Drug Issue, Bren Esports 'Committed to Vision and Goals
In a recent report, Gamenguide reported that a warrant of arrest has already been issued for the Bren Esports owner. Chong is now facing raps under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Add, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) hopes that Chong would surrender to face the charges pressed against him and spare everyone the trouble from not doing so.
In the statement by Bren Esports, they assure their fans that they will be staying committed to their vision and goals to provide the best support and structure that their export athletes deserve. The organization adds, "We are grateful to our community and industry partners for showing their support as we elevate the esports industry of the Philippines."
