Premier League champions Manchester unveiled Thursday, Aug. 4. their first kit launch with online gaming platform Roblox. The team featured their third alternate jersey for the 2022-2023 Premier League.

Man City New Kit Is Inspired by the Manchester Bee

In a report from ESPN, manufacturers Puma officially refer to the colorings of the new jersey as "Fizzy Light" and "Parisian Night," and they also claim that the striped pattern was motivated by the Manchester worker bee a well-known representation of the city's industrial background. The bands' usage of the spray-paint effect is also meant as a homage to the street art seen on city walls and to the graffiti artists who produce it.

According to Manchester City's official website, the new kit was released for the first time on the gaming platform Roblox to allow its players to explore and interact with the new kit that was unveiled in the 'PUMA and the Land of Games' Roblox world. The recent announcement from the website adds that the Manchester City reskin and the feature of the Manchester City Home and third alternate kits will be only available for a limited time.

PUMA, alongside the City, will host a YouTube tournament in Football Rush with roughly ten players divided into two as additional support for the launch. The competition will take place after the kit launch event, and the winners will receive $10,000 USD to spend on Roblox. Football Rush is one of three titles that 'PUMA and the Land of Games' are featuring.

This new kit feature is the latest addition to the Manchester City and design company Puma partnership. Many Roblox fans are already excited about releasing this new kit from Manchester City. According to direct comments from fans in the bird app, this recent addition is a testament to the team's commitment to their fans, whatever the age range.

More Sports Organizations Head to Roblox

As reported by SportsProMedia, Manchester City launched last month a new 'Blue Moon' experience in the metaverse with the football club's first partnership with Roblox. The new City experience incorporates interactive space-themed jobs and moon-themed images as it tells the story of the characters "Moonchester" and "Moonbeam."

Manchester is only one of many sports teams that have engaged with gaming platform giants in various partnerships. Many sports organizations have already dived into the metaverse to reach out to the next generation of sports fans. These organizations and companies see Roblox as an excellent platform for marketing and advertising as the gaming platform currently boasts over a hundred million monthly active users.

Earlier this year, the National Football League (NFL) is the first major league sports organization to partner with Roblox. In February, the National Football League and Roblox announced the release of NFL Tycoon, a game that will interact with the Metaverse's newest generation of NFL football fans. The NFL will be the first legitimate professional sports organization to provide a persistent experience on Roblox, a worldwide platform that connects millions of users through similar interests.
