Soniqs Esports Picks Up Quincy Crew in Time for Arlington Major

Picking Quincy Crew is a 'no-brainer:' Soniqs CEO

After three years, Dota 2 squad Quincy Crew finally lands an organization to sign them. Today (Aug. 3), it has been confirmed that the pro team will be heading to the Arlington Major representing Soniqs Esports.

On Tuesday, Aug. 2, Soniqs Esports confirmed buying the top-seeded North American pro team to represent them and North America in the upcoming PGL Arlington Major to commence on Thursday, Aug. 4. The Quincy Crew team last played Team SoloMid (TSM) last month in the North American regional qualifiers for the ESL One Malaysia Dota 2 Tournament, where they suffered a heart-breaking 3-2 loss to concede in the series.

In a recent tweet, Soniqs Esports shares that the organization is very excited about signing the Quincy Crew squad through this fall and, hopefully the coming TI11. The esports organization is previously known for building UBG, Rocket League, and Rainbow Six rosters.

Picking Quincy Crew Is a 'No-Brainer:' Soniqs CEO

"We're continuously searching for fresh methods to develop the organization," Soniqs CEO Darren "Tribizzle" Moore remarked. For us, picking up Quincy Crew was a no-brainer. Our organization is expanding to include another championship-caliber squad, and we are eager to establish ourselves as a fresh Dota 2 esports team. AFK Gaming shares in a report that since the team started as a stack in 2018, it has witnessed numerous entities come and go. Quincy Crew was last signed as a member of Chaos Esports Club in 2019, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic's effects, it was immediately let go. Despite these uncertainties with esports organizations, the squad still secured the top seed for North America this year.

More Challenges Await Quincy Crew as They Enter Major

Despite landing the top NA seed, Quincy Crew still needs to double their current DPC points to qualify for an invite to October's TI11. This gives a squad a really small window to shoot their shot for the biggest Dota tournament of the year. But it is still a little bit early to be losing all hopes. Many fans will be on the lookout for Quincy Crew's last-minute campaign to qualify for the much-awaited TI.

The real challenge does not end with signing with an esports organization to enter a Major. With a thick resume on their belt, the new Soniqs squad can be a force to be reckoned with in the PGL Arlington Major. As many teams enter the competition with either first-timers or last-minute stand-ins, Quincy Crew's experience can be their edge in fighting for the title and qualifying for The International.

The PGL Arlington Major is another significant international Dota 2 tournament this year to feature the world's best teams in Dota. The participating teams will be battling for the USD$500,000 prize pool and the valuable TI qualification points that is a direct ticket to The International. Quincy Crew has to battle hard in this competition if they want a direct path to the biggest stage of Dota.
