In the latest snapshots, the upcoming amiibo for Minecraft characters Steve and Alex looks cool. The amiibos do not have some elaborate pose. They are just plainly standing - like a Minecraft trophy.
A report from Eurogamer says that the remaining amiibos to be released include Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7, Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Kazuya from Tekken, and Sora from Kingdom Hearts.
Some years ago, no one would have thought that Minecraft would eventually join Smash Bros. and have its merchandise that Nintendo officially licenses.
Some fans are also asking, can Nintendo and Mojang come up with an amiibo update only for the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft (Bedrock Edition) and Minecraft Dungeons? As 2022 turns out to be a year of surprises for both Nintendo and Minecraft fans, we can only brace for more exciting announcements in the coming weeks and months.
As Nintendo Life reports, Steve and Alex will receive a special double pack release in Japan. There are still no updates about the same special double pack release to be launched in other regions.
What Are Amiibos?
According to LifeWire, Amiibos are toys-to-life figurines made by Nintendo that can be used to unlock features in a variety of games across several other Nintendo platforms.
Recently, many Nintendo fans have turned into collectors of these fun figurines. Over the years, these amiibos are developed to have more features to accommodate a growing community of Nintendo fans.
Collecting the figurines is enjoyable since they are accurate replicas of well-known video game characters. Up-to-date, Nintendo has already released many amiibos, ranging from Pokemons, variations of Zelda characters, and cool renders from other videogames like Final Fantasy and Mario Bros.
Even though the release is weeks from now, many fans are claiming that the Minecraft amiibo will be sold out in days.
What Does Amiibo Do?
Amiibos may look like figurines that you should only keep in a box and put on a shelf, but they also serve a purpose. A variety of gaming platforms, including Nintendo Switch, Wii U, and the upcoming Nintendo 3DS, can send data to and from amiibo toys thanks to its unique technology.
