Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Wave 2 DLC Is Out Next Week: Nintendo Confirms

Nintendo confirms Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Wave 2 DLC to be finally available this coming Aug. 4, the company announced on Thursday, July 28.

Finally, after some months of rumors and speculations, Nintendo revealed eight new tracks coming to the best-selling game on Switch. This new addition includes Kalimari Desert, Waluigi Pinball, Mushroom Gorge, and debut track Sky-High Sundae.

The Wave 2 DLC will consist of two new Grand Prix, each featuring four exciting tracks. The two recent Grand Prix will be called Turnip Cup and Propeller Cup.

Here are the 8 Featured Tracks

Turnip Cup

  • Tour New York Minute (Mario Kart Tour)
  • SNES Mario Circuit 3 (Super Mario Kart)
  • N64 Kalimari Desert (Mario Kart 64)
  • DS Waluigi Pinball (Mario Kart DS)

Propeller Cup

  • Tour Sydney Sprint (Mario Kart Tour)
  • GBA Snow Land (Mario Kart: Super Circuit)
  • Wii Mushroom Gorge (Mario Kart Wii)
  • Sky-High Sundae

The Sky-HIgh Sundae track is new, in addition to the classic tracks in the game. Sky-High Sundae features a landscape filled with colorful and tasty sweet treats. Even the game skyline is filled with these cute new designs, even mixing with the clouds.

This update was a surprise for some as it features many fan-favorite Mario Kart tracks. Also, the new wave looks slicker than Wave 1, tracks, design - Wave 2 is a winner.

Fans will also go crazy with the return of Waluigi Pinball and Mushroom Gorge, classic and iconic tracks that anyone will always enjoy. Everyone has their sights on Sky-High Sundae too, as this new track is the first one to feature anti-gravity sections!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Available by the End of 2023

The first four tracks will be part of the Turnip Cup, while the last four will be part of the Propeller Cup.

In a report from CNET, the Booster Course Pass will have added 48 new tracks to the game over six waves by the end of 2023. In March, the first eight-piece set was first released. The additional courses can be accessed for free if the user has a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, although this pass costs $25.

Nintendo also notes that Wave 1 has eight courses, including Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain, 3DS Toad Circuit, DS Shroom Ridge, and GBA Sky Garden, in addition to Ninja Hideaway, Paris Promenade, and Tokyo Blur from Mario Kart Tour. Now, Wave 2 will join Wave 1 with six distinct waves, each with eight courses, to make up the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass, which will be available by the end of 2023.

This new DLC features a brand new track, but fans are still rooting for Nintendo to release a new character. Can we expect characters like Dixie Kong to join the race track soon?
