A new PS5 exclusive game has been announced by Dark Passenger, a studio formed by a bunch of former developers from CD Projekt Red.

The game is said to be a multiplayer-only ninja title set in Feudal Japan, reports Push Square. Dark Passenger is currently hiring some new talent to join their development team, as evidenced by the handful of job listings on the studio's website. There's still no official title for the game or even a codename yet, but the game definitely exists and will indeed be a new PS5 exclusive.
Ex-CD Projekt Red devs Jakub Ben, Pawel Kuleta, and Magdalena Furman headline the studio's roster. They say that the ninja game has been in pre-production for the past couple of years, and it looks like the next phase of the development is about to begin.
A few other details about the PS5 exclusive game have been revealed by the studio, some of them rather indirect - but pretty clear in the job listings they've posted. It looks like the game will be made using Unreal Engine 5, as all of the job openings require candidates to be fluent or relatively familiar with the new engine.

Details on the game indicate that despite being multiplayer, it does feature a story. In it, players will get to play shinobi and kunoichi (aka male and/or female ninja) who will face the big bad's underlings and compete with them in the search for "powerful artifacts," reports IGN. Since this is Feudal Japan, there is a good chance that the big bad guy will be a warlord or a shogun, who could be in command of his own army of ninja and samurai warriors.
The game will feature character customization, which will allow players to create their own avatars and modify their gear. And since this is a ninja-focused PS5 exclusive, you'll be having access to iconic weapons: the tanto, katana, shuriken, and perhaps even smoke bombs. The game also reportedly has some sort of parkour and climbing system a-la Assassin's Creed.
No release date or vague release window has been announced.

What Kind Of Game Could This New PS5 Exclusive Be?
Until we get some kind of teaser trailer, we really can't tell for certain what kind of game this will be. But this doesn't necessarily stop anyone from speculating.

So, take a game with ninja, samurai, and shogun, set it in Feudal Japan, and add parkour. It almost sounds like the Assassin's Creed game that people have been asking for for years, but never got. Now, add multiplayer to it. This could give us a gameplay loop for PvP that will task players to seek out enemies from a bunch of NPCs - climbing, running, and jumping onto obstacles and buildings to either avoid danger or deal damage from stealth.
Ninja were never frontline combatants, so adding a very deep, comprehensive melee combat system would never make a lot of sense. These covert operators were at their strongest infiltrating hard-to-reach places and striking from the shadows where enemies least expect it. But of course, all of this is mere speculation, so don't quote us on that.
