God Of War is chock full of powerful encounters and boss fights, but perhaps the most challenging are the optional ones. In this case, nine Valkyries (warrior maidens who serve the Allfather Odin) whom Kratos can encounter through his adventures in the Norse mythological realm.
To say that taking down each Valkyrie is tough is a massive understatement. Each of them have their very own abilities and attack patterns, which keeps you as Kratos on your toes - tense hand on the Leviathan Axe at all times. But here is a general guide to beating all of them, as even the mightiest do have their weaknesses.
BE. PATIENT.
Your goopy little gamer brain will want to keep swinging. That's a given. But please, for the love of the gods: be patient. Picking your shots is absolutely critical in a fight with any Valkyrie in God Of War. Get too greedy and you'll be at the end of their crazy damage output - more so if you're playing on the hardest difficulty.
As per GamesRadar, keep things simple. Bide your time, study attack patterns. And as much as possible, only attack whenever the enemy takes a few seconds to recover. One, two, three, then pull back and analyze your situation yet again.
Avoid Taking Too Much Damage
Fighting a Valkyrie in God Of War and winning is as simple as doing one thing, according to Digital Trends: focus on AVOIDING damage, NOT dishing it out. Once again, your goopy little gamer brain will want to keep swinging to deal as much damage as possible. But focusing on avoiding getting hit is critical because of how these mythological warrior maidens are built.
All nine of them have massive health pools and deal insane amounts of damage on their own. Only a few hits from them will make you go through your stock of Ressurection Stones quicker than you can throw your axe. So in order to beat them, stay in the game for as long as possible and focus on whittling down their health. Again. Patience.

Use Boi To Full Effect
Kratos might be a gruff dad, but let's be honest: he'll be nothing against a Valkyrie in God Of War without Atreus. So use his abilities to the absolute max whenever going up against these creatures.
IGN advises that as much as possible, use Atreus' arrows whenever a Valkyrie does a homing attack. That's because most of these attacks are almost impossible to dodge. A homing attack is indicated by a red circle whenever a Valkyrie goes up into the air. Command Atreus to fire into the circle to stop the attack, so you'll have a window to get much-needed hits in.
ALWAYS Enter Battle With Full Meters
Whenever you encounter any enemies on your way to a Valkyrie, build your Spartan Rage meter up and save it. But even then, you still need to save it until the point where you're closest to dying, so you can maximize its properties and deal as much damage as you can in a short period (via TheGamer).
To cap things off, all of your other runic meters must be full as well. Use them as much as you can when things start to get heated.
And that's it! This should finally help you get that coveted Platinum trophy before God Of War Ragnarok rolls in. Happy hunting.
