For some reason, a considerable PS5 restock just happened at one of the most unlikely places ever - a furniture store in Texas. Although, the stock is probably already sold out by the time you read this article.
GameRant reports that a Redditor by the handle freshgr3enstart spotted the consoles in a nondescript aisle in a Nebraska Furniture Mart branch in Texas, near the city of Dallas. There were a total of 20 consoles on display, all of them the basic disc-based version. But here's the kicker: all of them were also priced at the original MSRP of $499 - something that's extremely difficult to find these days.
Here's the image, which was posted on the PlayStation subreddit:
As per the report, the aforementioned branch of Nebraska Furniture Mart is likely the one located in The Colony, Texas. However, a few commenters were also noticing how the PS5 units weren't even being sold in a forced bundle (i.e. with games and an extra controller, most of the time) for around $800 to $1000 elsewhere.
With the find, some people were assuming that Sony has been steadily improving the supply chains for the PS5 within the last few months. A few more were even beating themselves up saying that they've been looking for a PlayStation 5 restock in the wrong places - typical stores like Best Buy, Walmart, or Target, for one.
Either way, it's not made clear how the furniture store managed to nab the stocks. But if you know the store itself, you should remember that it's more of a mixed retailer - selling a combination of furniture and electronic appliances like washing machines. We're not sure whether a game console can be considered an appliance, but we digress.
If you're still looking for a PS5, though, you probably shouldn't go visiting your local IKEA or something. It would still be best to go for recognizable major retailers. Plus, you can get pointers on how to secure a PlayStation 5 console via our guide. Happy hunting!

Why Is The PS5 Still Impossible To Get Almost Two Years After Launch?
By now, the answer to this question is really getting old. But it's still true, even today that it's been almost two years since Sony launched the console. Stocks and supply issues persist, even if Sony itself has been trying its best to ramp up production.
In a report by Eurogamer, Sony executive Jim Ryan mentioned how the ongoing conflict in Ukraine has been one of the major reasons why you can't buy a PlayStation 5. It might seem so far off the grid, but the reasoning is simple. Ryan says that war in the aforementioned region is hampering logistics and parts inventory, though the outlook for the next few years is more positive.
However, it's also worth noting that this console shortage remains even if things are getting way better on the PC gaming side. Graphics cards from NVIDIA's RTX and AMD's RX 6000 series have seen their prices fall off a cliff, and there's no reason to say that the PS5 can't follow suit. The hardware is more or less the same now considering current-gen consoles are the most PC-like they've ever been in years.
