Xbox One YouTube Upload Feature Coming Tomorrow, Allowing You to Send Video Clips Straight to YouTube

Xbox One Can Upload Video Straight to YouTube Starting Tomorrow

Microsoft announced that the YouTube app on Xbox One will be getting a big update tomorrow, allowing users to upload their videos straight to YouTube.

The update will make the app compatible with the Game DVR function, Xbox One's video capture service, allowing you to take your footage and upload the video onto YouTube.

You can use the standard "Xbox, record that" command, to capture the footage, and will still be able to edit the video before posting it online. It opens the recorded video in the Upload Studio, where you can make your cuts or changes, and then sends it to the YouTube app for uploading (if you select that option).

To use the feature, Microsoft explains that you simply go to Settings and select the "Share game clips" option as well as "Share on social network".

Video uploading and streaming is incredibly popular right now, as Microsoft knows. The Xbox One saw great usage numbers for the Twitch streaming service when it launched, mostly due to the release of Titanfall. The game and service launched together, and people were eager to stream their new game. The company boasted that when Titanfall launched alongside the streaming function, the Xbox One accounted for 30 percent of all Twitch's streaming that day.

Roughly 108,000 unique users tried the service that week, and Microsoft was proud to take a stab at Sony's relative lack of opening week success. The service launched with the PS4, though, so not as many people owned the console, and there was no major title to stream.

The YouTube uploading feature will be available tomorrow, so look for an update to your Xbox One's YouTube app.
