We just cannot let the day end without the usual #SteamSpotlight feature, now can we?
For today's feature, we venture back to the depths of the horror genre and found something with a twist. You know how, in horror games, you as the player typically have to defeat or escape from (or both) from an NPC villain? Well, this game's twist is that it is a multiplayer game wherein you get to be either the hunter or the hunted.
Curious to learn more? Well, let's get started.
#SteamSpotlight Feature: In Silence
Developed and published by Ravenhood Games, In Silence was released in October 2021. As previously mentioned, it is a multiplayer horror game that can accommodate up to six players at a time.
According to the website of Ravenhood Games, "One player takes on the role of the monster who has hypersensitive hearing abilities and is almost completely blind." This monster is actually know as Rake and the game's Steam page notes that Rake can hear even the slightest noise despite being far, far away.
As for the rest of the players, they are the survivors who have the option of either escaping from the nearly blind monster or beating it. As you may have already guessed, silence and stealth are your best friends in this game.

Make any noise by stepping or hitting anything or even via the game's proximity voice chat, and you better be prepared to either fight or fly. If you are wondering what the proximity voice chat, it actually lets you hear the voices of the players near you.
So how can you stop Rake? By using an advanced flashlight to stop it. Be careful when you use it, however, as you can easily blind fellow survivors. You can likewise use a flashbang to stun Rake if you or one of the other survivors get caught.
What happens if you, the survivor, gets caught and killed by Rake? According to the game's Steam page, you will reappear as a mouse that can help distract the monster. Yes, you read that right.
Single Player and Nightmare Mode
If you feel brave enough to go one-on-one against Rake, that is no problem as In Silence does have a single player option.
It also has what is known as the Nightmare Mode. According to the Steam page of In Silence, "The amount of items that are spread across the map is equal to the amount of items you will require." What this means is that if you need two car wheels to escape, there will only be two wheels in the map. No extras.
