The creators of the massively popular game Genshin Impact have announced a new ARPG, titled Zenless Zone Zero, which is also set in the miHoYo universe (aka the HoYoverse).
According to IGN, Zenless Zone Zero is an urban fantasy ARPG set in a world known as New Eridu that has been destroyed by a supernatural disaster called The Hollows. As the player, you inhabit the role of a professional called a Proxy, whose job is to guide people as they explore the Hollows, fight enemies, and achieve unknown/unstated goals.
Developer miHoYo says that in the process of fulfilling their jobs as a Proxy, players will get to learn more about their personal story. Here's what they had to say about the game upon its announcement:
"We would like to invite players to discover the last shelter for urban civilization due to the calamity. Together with a group of distinctive partners, they will fight alongside each other and unravel the mysteries in this post-apocalyptic world."
Zenless Zone Zero also has its first trailer alongside its announcement, which showcases a mix of cutscenes and gameplay. Here it is:
As you can see in the trailer, ZZZ looks to be another fast-paced, anime-style romp wherein characters engage enemies in very stylish combat. The game, however, will only be exclusive to PC and iOS, as reported by Eurogamer. But that's not everything that miHoYo shared in this initial announcement.
The game is already preparing for its closed beta, with sign ups already open via its official website. You can try your luck out there if you want to be one of the first to experience the game before it's out, though there's still no definitive release date for it. Furthermore, it wasn't revealed whether Zenless Zone Zero is free-to-play like Genshin Impact, or if it will be a full-price game.

More Details About Zenless Zone Zero
In the announcement trailer, ZZZ seems to put a lot of focus on its combat mechanics - which are typical of any other ARPGs that have come before it.
According to miHoYo, the "fluid, cinematic action-oriented combat system" allows players to control different characters in the heat of battle when fighting the Etheral (which are what we assume to be the bad guys. The moves are fantastical, amazingly choreographed, and perhaps a bit over-the-top to some players - but hey, that's the charm of this particular game genre for you.
In combat, players will also get to use the individual characters' unique skills which will lead to "unlimited QTE combos." This might refer to what seems to be ultimate abilities designed to decimate multiple enemies at once or take a decent chunk out of health bars during big boss fights.
But aside from the combat, the developers also claim to have developed a Roguelike gameplay mechanism "that waits exploration." So, we'll just have to wait and see whether they do that feature justice.
