A Square Enix fan girl claims that she has found the real-life apartment that was the basis of the one where Sora is staying as seen in the recent Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer.

It seems that Kingdom Hearts fans are nitpicking on the recently released trailer and scouring the Internet for every detail they could find about the new game. There was recent clamor lately on Sora's redesign, with fans expressing disappointment about Sora's shoes. Sora famously sported large yellow sneakers, similar to the yellow shoes that Mickey Mouse wore. In the Kingdom Heart 4 trailer, Sora is seen wearing regular-sized shoes. One fan discovered that the room where Sora wakes up in the trailer is based on a real-life apartment in Japan.

Twitch Streamer Finds Sora's Real-life Apartment

Audrey "aitaikimochi" Lamsam, Twitch streamer, CEO of the Aitai Kuji website, and a self-proclaimed "Square Enix fangirl" showed evidence of this in her latest Twitch stream, according to a report by Kotaku. Not only does this apartment exists in the real world, but it is also found in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Japan. One can only speculate how a game character who does adventures for a living can afford the hefty rent on such prime real estate property.

In the trailer, which was released on April 10, we see Sora waking up in an upscale, minimalist apartment. The place looks straight out of an Architectural Digest magazine. Strelizia welcomes Sora to the realm called Quadratum, which looks identical to present-day Tokyo, Japan. Aitaikomochi said in her Twitch stream that she thoroughly dug around to check if the place in the game is based on a real-life apartment. And lo, and behold, she was right. There, in fact, exists an apartment that is located in Aoyama, one of Japan's posh neighborhoods.

"I can't believe Sora lives in [fucking] Aoyama in Tokyo, which is one of the most expensive residential areas in Tokyo," Aitaikimochi said in a tweet.

Sora's Rent Could Be About $2000 A Month

Aitaikimochi posted a series of tweets giving updates about what she found. Aitaikimochi showed pictures of places in Aoyama and compared them to the screenshots of the game. She even pinpointed two buildings where Sora might be staying. She also found out that the average rent in the area is 245,000 yen a month or about $2000. The streamer also adds that if anyone wants to buy the apartment, it would roughly cost about $1.2 million.

That cost doesn't even include the utilities and the furniture. The room appears bare, but it's definitely furnished, as evidenced by the couch that Sora sleeps in. Game creator Tetsuya Nomura said in an interview with gaming magazine Famitsu that the interiors seen in the trailer will likely change.

In addition to the speculations above, Aitaikimochi also included links to actual apartment listings that look like the ones in the trailer. She identified Sora's apartment to be a 1LDK, a one-bedroom apartment that comes with a living, dining, and kitchen area.

Because of this fans have raised questions as to whether Sora has an actual job to afford the rent. Some have expressed being jealous of the amenities Sora gets to enjoy, especially the spacious balcony with a great view. We can guess that Sora's full-time job of saving the world from Xehanort and the Heartless does come with a few perks.
