Epic Games might've teased that Fortnite could get more guest characters from the Star Wars series down the line if this information is accurate.
Twitter users have been sharing two screenshots from Epic's recent Unreal Engine 5 livestream (State of Unreal), wherein some folders related to Fortnite were shown. According to TechRadar, this could be a teaser for the appearance of the iconic Darth Vader, alongside other Star Wars characters coming to the battle royale game within the next few months.
Here is a tweet from Twitter user iFireMonkey, showing two screenshots of the Fortnite folders on a developer's computer screen:
During the State of Unreal showcase there was a segment showing the Intro Cinematic for Ch3 - S1.

On the second monitor you can see some folders such as:
- Family Guy
- Chapter 3 - Season 3 Jones
- Chapter 3 - Season 3 - Vader
- Doom
and some other files

One of the folders clearly says "C3S3_Vader" on it, with the letters potentially standing for "Chapter 3 Season 3." But while this doesn't seem like much, there's also another tweet from Donald Mustard, Epic Games' CCO, of an image showing what looks to be a pixelated version of Chewbacca and C3PO graffitied on a wall:
Sooooo many secrets here… pic.twitter.com/zFLBmbooa9

If that darker image on the right isn't Chewie, then we don't know what (or who) it's supposed to represent. Furthermore, Mustard's words for the tweet seem cryptic in their own right, as if there are so many things he wants to reveal but can't.
That's not the only thing here. According to PCGamesN, Mustard posted the same photo on his Instagram account with the caption, "That's no Moon!?" Every avid Star Wars fan should know that this is the exact line Obi-Wan Kenobi says in A New Hope when he finds out that what looked like a moon in the distance wasn't a moon at all-but, the Death Star.
Epic Games hasn't commented on this yet, so this is a developing story.
Fortnite's Previous Star Wars Collaborations
If this is accurate, it's far from the only Star Wars collaboration Fortnite has ever had over the years. Multiple characters from the iconic franchise have appeared in the battle royale game in the past.
The first time Star Wars crossed over with Fortnite was during a special event promoting the release of Rise of Skywalker back in 2019. As per GameRant, the event brought the first lightsabers, skins featuring Kylo Ren, Rey, a Sith Trooper, Finn, Zorii Bliss, and the Millennium Falcon (which was added as a glider).
Next up was The Mandalorian, featuring a skin faithful to the appearance of Pedro Pascal's titular character in the Disney+ series-complete with Grogu in a floating crib. The most recent one was the iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett, with a look accurate to his appearance in The Book of Boba Fett series. But after that, Fortnite hasn't seen another major Star Wars crossover yet.
It would make a bit of sense for Epic to add one soon since Star Wars is quite big right now with the release of Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and the month of May (universally celebrated as Star Wars Month) on the horizon.
