Halo Infinite Is Getting New Content Paying Homage To The Live-Action TV Show

Halo Infinite Will Get New Content Inspired By The Live-Action TV Show

Halo Infinite players could expect new content inspired by the Paramount Plus live-action TV show, as per recent statements made by 343 Industries' Brian Jarrard.

Jarrard, who serves as the studio's Community Director, recently went on an interview with the Washington Post to talk about the Halo TV series (via WCCFTech). There, he talked about how specific nods to the live-action adaptation of the shooter franchise could be brought into Infinite for the foreseeable future.

He mentioned how the team at 343 Industries is looking to create content for the game's free-to-play multiplayer, where they hope to have the ability to "shape and influence experiences over time." They're mentioning how the multiplayer's live service landscape could fit very well into their plans down the road.

This could be good news for Halo Infinite, as the game hasn't seen any new major updates in a while. Specifically, a good number of fans are actually demanding crossover content inspired by the Halo TV show, which is of a slightly different canon from the games as it follows the so-called "Silver Timeline."

According to GameRant, people are clamoring for at least anything-perhaps an armor set inspired by the new timeline to an apparent fracture in the Silver Timeline's canon, which could bleed into the game franchise's canon. Instead, they're decrying the lack of new content considering how long of a wait it is until Season 2 of the multiplayer arrives.

Furthermore, there's still the obvious absence of fan-favorite Forge Mode and the iconic single-player co-op mode, which many fans also call "couch co-op." 343 Industries has confirmed that campaign co-op isn't scheduled to launch until Season 2, while Forge will launch until Season 3, as reported by Tech Times.

Why Is Halo Infinite Taking So Long To Get New Content?

The clear lack of new content to satisfy Halo Infinite players is something that devs at 343 are well aware of. Jarrard himself apologized to the game's player base in reply to a Reddit post published on the Halo subreddit.

In his reply, Jarrard mentioned how "a lot of challenges and constraints" have kept the devs at 343 from meeting both player and community expectations. While he didn't mention these challenges and constraints, he stated how specific studio-wide happenings like production planning costing and hiring new talent are cutting into the development team's work time somehow.

The response to Jarrard's reply, however, wasn't too good. Some folks are even saying that the situation points to a "grim" future for the game, despite being the largest Halo launch in history.

Earlier in its release, Infinite celebrated the milestone of having 20 million players try it out worldwide. Microsoft posted about the milestone on Twitter, with Infinite being the franchise's biggest game since the original launched way back in 2001 with the OG Xbox:
