The all-new, revamped PlayStation Plus will have "all the big names" in its game library, promises Sony PlayStation boss Jim Ryan.
Ryan has been talking about his company's new direct competitor to Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass. According to Eurogamer, he made the bold claim in a recent episode of the official PlayStation podcast, where he was asked which specific games would be available on the new subscription service.
The PlayStation boss was quoted as saying that Sony had "massive publisher participation" in the reworked PlayStation Plus, which could mean that all their big-name publishers and developers will have their games featured. But they won't be the only ones, as Ryan also confirmed that small indie publishers would also be on the service.
However, Ryan also confirmed that PlayStation Plus wouldn't be offering Day One exclusive releases like Xbox Game Pass. This means that unlike games such as Starfield or Halo Infinite coming out on Game Pass on Day One, you can't expect something like Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man 2 or Santa Monica's God Of War Ragnarok on there.
Sony launched its revamped PlayStation Plus subscription last Mar. 29. They promised a launch date of June, alongside over 700 games on offer on the first day, which they say will provide "more value than ever" in the official PlayStation Blog.
The new subscription features a mix of the old PS Plus and PlayStation Now, meaning that it now offers both online multiplayer, free monthly games, and game streaming of classic titles from the PS3 era (alongside backward-compatible PS1, PS2, and PSP games). There will be three subscription tiers at the beginning, but only the top tier, PS Plus Premium, will offer the streaming of PS3 games via the cloud.

Is It A Good Competitor To Xbox Game Pass?
Not a lot of publications were fans of Sony's "all-new" PlayStation Plus, however. This video from GameSpot said that the new subscription "feels boring" compared to Microsoft's offering.
They were particularly critical of the service's two lower tiers, which they say could be a "waste of money" for anyone who decides to pay a monthly fee. And they could be right, considering that the base tier (PlayStation Plus Essential) only offers what the basic PS Plus service already has.
On the other hand, the tier above that (PlayStation Plus Extra) gives what the Essential tier has but adds up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games. That's it. There are no Day One exclusive releases, as previously mentioned. Jim Ryan said that the reason for this is that putting first-party games on PS Plus on day one "didn't make economic sense," according to a report by GamesIndustry.biz.
Either way, you can expect to taste the new PlayStation Plus service come June. Sony didn't provide an exact day, but the month is definitive, and there seems to be no indication of a delay in sight.
