Colin Riley, AMD's Senior Developer Technology Engineer, explained that the new FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 would allow game developers to port into any platform they want without the annoying restrictions.
The new FSR 2.0 is expected to offer better performance than its predecessor, the FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0. The new version of AMD's upscaling tech is also faster compared to other TAA antialiasing techniques.
But how will it actually enhance the gaming experience in Xbox consoles?
How Will It Improve Xbox Console Gaming Experience?
AMD explained that the new FSR 2.0 would also increase the game's frame rates available on Xbox consoles. The arrival of this new upscaling game tech is important since many experts claim that increasing the frame rates of the games is the best way to improve the gaming experience.
On the other hand, the new FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 is also easy to implement, especially if the Xbox title supports Nvidia's DLSS 2.0 tech. Aside from this, AMD is also rolling out new algorithms to fix the issues of FSR, allowing the new version to prevent flickering graphics and other issues.
Xbox is not the only one that will benefit from the new FSR 2.0 upscaling tech. AMD announced that some lucky Nvidia GPUs would also receive this new feature. These include Nvidia GeForce RTX 1070 and other higher models. You can use the new FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0, at least, on a 1080p gaming monitor.
