"Tiny Tina's Wonderlands," a popular "Borderlands" spin-off, will be receiving a cross-play support feature. This means that regardless of the platform you are using, you can play with your friends playing on other consoles.
Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford confirmed this news. However, fans are worried about the issue last year with "Borderlands 3."
'Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' Now Supports Cross-Play
According to a report by Eurogamer, Pitchford has a previous deal with 2K with regards to the crossplay feature for the games.
At that time, the gaming company interfered with backing up this feature for PlayStation during the release of the post-launch patch of "Borderlands 3."
In addition, the announcement for "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" cross-playability was revealed weeks after the cross-platform revenue share policy was publicized. This is in line with the hot controversy surrounding the Apple vs. Epic legal battle.
This only means one thing for Gearbox: Sony could ask them a portion of proceeds from different platforms. This would be the condition before allowing the crossplay to operate in PlayStation.

Technical Hiccups on Crossplay
Speaking of 2K, there's no mention of any reason why 2K told Gearbox to ditch the crossplay feature for PlayStation. We only know the shipment date for the "Tiny Tina's Wonderlands" crossplay, which will take place on Mar. 25.
Regarding "Borderlands 3" crossplay, Pitchford indicated that this was "inevitable."
The Gearbox CEO added that the crossplay for "Tina's" might bring "technical hiccups" during the launch. He urged the fans to be as calm as possible for the developers.
"This is hard stuff and none of the platforms were designed for this. We've done impossible work to make it happen and to try to make it as easy to use as possible, but this is new territory and the wild is not a test environment," Pitchford said in a report from PlayStation Lifestyle.
