Nintendo, EA, and Other Video Game Industries Show Support To Ukraine

Nintendo stopped shipments to Russia as the war continued between the country and Ukraine. The cause of its decision is due to "the volatility of the logistics of shipping and distribution of physical goods" to the country.

This is action is response to support Ukraine by completely cutting all ties with it for the meantime, according to Nintendo Life.

This decision made by Nintendo came consequently to the deferral of eShop payments in Russia as well as the delaying of the release of "Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp".

The "Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp" will be a remake of Nintendo's classics "Advance Wars" and "Advance Wars 2" of the Gameboy Advance. Overall, this is not related to the crisis encircling Europe because the delay will allow WayForward to finalize the game.

Video Game Industry's Ukrainian Support

Going back to Nintendo's move in support of Ukrainian children and gamers, Sony Interactive Entertainment likewise postpones operations of its PlayStation Store launch as well as "Gran Turismo 7's" release in the country, Aljazeera reported.

Pokemon, CD Projekt Red, EA Sports, Crytivo, Gameloft, Crunching Koalas, and Wargaming showed their support too.

Pokemon Company expressed their support of Ukraine through a tweet from their official Twitter account. It mentioned that the crisis between the two countries heartbreakingly affects families and children. This was prior to their donation amounting up to $200 thousand.

 CD Projekt Red, moreover, released their support in a tweet. They stopped all sales of their game franchises to Russia and Belarus. It also served as the start of their work to temporarily cease digital sales as well as physical stock distribution in the said regions.

Furthermore, EA Sports voiced their support of Ukraine by removing Russia's national team and all same-national clubs from EA Sports' FIFA and UEFA products, including FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile, and FIFA Online. This was all disclosed in another tweet made.

 More so, Polish company 11-bit Studios extended their support of the affected by the turmoil by lending its seven-day sales to the Ukrainian Red Cross. They provided such a remark in an official statement. The actions of the said large companies had reached the United States. In a tweet, Indie publisher and developer Crytivo uttered their helping hand in the fight started by their co-competitors in the industry. They said that their online stores' sales in February and March will directly be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross to aid the victims. Moreover, they also voiced that their employees in Ukraine will be instated with paid leave until the situation there improves.

Ukraine-based Gameloft, likewise, said their expression of sadness with regards to the situation right now in their country of origin. In a tweet, they posted their demonstration of support with the sufferers.

"Ruiner" and "Project Warlock" publisher Crunching Koalas seconded its co-national 11-bit studios' move. They also spearheaded relief support through their 7-day sales directed immediately to the Ukrainian Red Cross.

Meanwhile, "World of Tanks" creator Wargaming studio also supported Ukraine after firing its game creative director Sergey Burkatovskiy who openly backed Russia's aggression. It was further explained in a statement stating that the safety and security of their employees was their top priority.
