"Nintendo Switch Sports" got announced in the recently concluded Nintendo Direct presentation as a "spiritual successor" to "Wii Sports," earning much fanfare along the way. But this one rumor might take the gameplay experience to a whole new level.
According to WCCFTech, there are rumors that "Switch Sports" might get support for AMD FSR, which will give it far better performance on the handheld. The rumor was spotted by Twitter user NWPlayer123, who tweeted a few images showing a license for the game. Apparently, it mentions Team Red's NVIDIA DLSS competitor by name:

Another Twitter user, OatmealDome, claims that the implementation of FSR is apparently integrated with the game's "agl," which is part of Nintendo's core graphics rendering libraries:
It seems that FSR is integrated in Switch Sports’ version of “agl”, one of Nintendo’s core graphics rendering libraries. This library was used in the past by many first party games (BotW, Odyssey, Splat, ACNH…)

This could indicate that FSR may be used in future Nintendo titles.
What this means, according to OatmealDome, is that FidelityFX Super Resolution might be used in future Nintendo games, but predominantly for the Switch for now.
For the unaware, AMD FSR is a type of upsampling software that allows games to run at smoother frame rates. It works by rendering the game a much lower resolution than native, then artificially upscaling it to a higher resolution with barely any visual loss and significant performance bumps.
"Nintendo Switch Sports" getting an official FidelityFX implementation would mean far smoother frame rates than the Switch can provide otherwise. It might be the one saving grace for Nintendo's handheld, which, judging by recent releases like "Pokemon Legends Arceus" and "Shin Megami Tensei V," has been showing the age of its hardware.
For now, it remains to be seen whether this rumor is accurate, as Nintendo or AMD hasn't commented on it yet. The game launches on the Switch on April 29th.
