Magneto and Professor X Make the Best New York Tourists

X-Men actors Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, who play mutant leaders Magneto and Professor X in the films including the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, do just about everything together lately. They've been acting in plays together on Broadway, appearing on TV talk shows as a pair, and constantly tweeting pictures of themselves together. As their Broadway runs wrap up, they've gifted us with a series of photos acting out stereotypical New York tourist activities, and the results are pretty fantastic.

The two English actors, both in their early 70's, are much more than X-Men heroes, of course. McKellen has a long career as a stage and film actor, with his most well-known movie role being his portrayal of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Stewart is also a stage actor, and his most famous film work is probably his role as Captain Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The long and admirable careers the two have had only provide the context to make these new pictures even more hilarious. Before the Super Bowl, another picture of the pair made the rounds, portraying Stewart in a Seattle Seahawks jersey and McKellen in one representing the Denver Broncos. Stewart even celebrated the Seahawks' crushing victory in the only way you would think, a glorious one-handed, fist pumping pushup, though I'm pretty sure the pair don't really follow the sport.

Without further ado, here are the new pictures of the two, acting out the usual New York tourist activities: playing around at Coney Island, using pay phones, and checking out the view of Manhattan from the top of a skyscraper. A few more pictures of the bromance to end all bromances can be found on Stewart's Twitter page.
