"Hogwarts Legacy" might already have a release date: September 1st, if this leak proves to be accurate.
According to TechRadar, the "Harry Potter" RPG's release date might have been hinted at by the recent release of a book called "The Art and making of Hogwarts Legacy" this September, which was announced by The Rowling Library.
The leaked "Hogwarts Legacy" release date came from industry insider AccountNGT, who recently shared it in a tweet:
According to them, the rumored launch date is also further corroborated by renowned game industry leaker Tom Henderson. For the unaware, Henderson has built a reputation for relatively accurate leaks recently, as evidenced by his posts about "Battlefield 2042" months before EA even announced it.
As per Henderson, Warner Bros. was "ready" to reveal new information on the game soon, with an expected release window of Q3 to Q4 2022. The September 1st rumor lines up perfectly with this window.
Henderson revealed the Q3-Q4 window in a YouTube video, which mentions Sony's upcoming State of Play presentation and why it could be the biggest yet:
There is another reason why the date is pretty likely, considering how important the day is for avid "Harry Potter" fans. September 1st is called "Back to Hogwarts Day," as it is literally the day that Hogwarts students return to continue their magical studies.
For now, however, there is no way to prove that this rumor is accurate. There's not a lot of new official information on the upcoming wizarding RPG from Warner Bros. themselves. All they ever said is that the game will release in 2022, but it could potentially be delayed all the way to 2023.
When it does launch, "Hogwarts Legacy" will come to the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Everything Known So Far About 'Hogwarts Legacy'
Since there's still no official "Hogwarts Legacy" release date yet, here is everything known so far about the upcoming "Harry Potter" RPG.
First revealed back in September 2020, the game takes place during the 1800s, as per PCGamer. This means that it is set way before Harry, Ron, Hermione, and all of their friends were even born. The only one who would be alive this far back in time will be Harry's mentor Dumbledore, who's still a young boy.
It looks like the game will be allowing players to create their own character. This character then, would appear to be on their own journey as a student in the wizarding school, going through a lot of familiar things, like getting assigned to a house by the Sorting Hat, learning how to play quidditch, and studying subjects like herbology and potion-making.
The game also appears to be an open-world title, meaning the players will not be confined within Hogwarts' walls and will be able to explore the immediate countryside if they wish.
Aside from that, there's barely anything else. It looks like Warner Bros. and developer Avalanche Studios are keeping their cards close to their chest at this point. However, WB, in particular, could very well delay the game again, considering how "Kill The Justice League" has also been delayed until next year.
