'Dying Light 2' Day One Patch Features An INSANE 1,000 Fixes, What Could They Be?

'Dying Light 2' Day One Patch Reportedly Has 1,000 Fixes

The "Dying Light 2" day one patch is shaping up to be one massive update, as it reportedly features an insane 1,000 individual fixes. This could mean that the game might be another very buggy release ahead of its official launch date if early leaked copies in the wild are to be believed.

According to PCGamer, "Dying Light 2" developer Techland is even pleading players not to judge the game until it receives the aforementioned day one patch. But since the game is not due until February 4, there's still no concrete information about what kinds of fixes it will bring.

Techland was the first one to mention that they were prepping "over a thousand fixes" and improvements across all platforms the game is running on.

Early "Dying Light 2" reviews, like the one done by IGN, even came with a Bug Alert advisory. This was meant to warn players that the game is not recommended for those who are particularly iffy with glitches as of its early state.

Here is IGN's video review:

Until the official patch notes come out, however, one should assume that the "Dying Light 2" day one patch aims to improve the game's overall stability. This is mainly due to the title being a cross-gen offering, as it comes out for both last-gen and next-gen platforms (aka PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC).

The "over 1,000 fixes" line can also be attributed to just how massive the game is. Earlier in the marketing cycle, Techland famously boasted that "Dying Light 2" could take over 500 hours of gameplay to fully complete-that is, if you want to, writes Polygon.

A game filled with so much content (and one that's been worked on by roughly 1500 people, as Techland claims), bugs on release day are basically inevitable. So for those who want to try out the new open-world zombie parkour romp, be sure to update it first.

'Dying Light 2' Reviews: How Is The Game Faring?

As previously mentioned, the game is not due until its official February 4th launch date. But some publications have already gotten their hands on early review copies, and the results are fairly mixed.

PCGamer's review called the sequel "bigger and better" than the original "Dying Light." They gave it a score of 84 out of 100, praising it mostly for its sandbox open-world featuring great parkour and combat mechanics. They weren't really fans of the game's story, however.

Polygon's review was more or less similar to that of PCGamer, in that they also praised the gameplay far more than its story. They mentioned that overall, the game felt like developer Techland had to choose to focus on the "fun" gameplay factor or the narrative.

Many other "Dying Light 2" reviews come out within the next few days of the game's launch. So be sure to check those out when they come.
