In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players need to encounter and catch wild Pokemon scattered around the region of Hisui, but they also need several missions and Requests to progress in the game.
These missions are part of the game's main storyline campaign, with each of them have own set of objectives that they need to clear in a linear order.
As they accomplish the missions, they slowly unravel the story inside the game while completing their main goal by researching every Pokemon in the region to complete its Pokedex.
One of the missions they need to complete in the game is "The Galaxy Team's Entry Trial," where Captain Cyllene, the Galaxy Team's Survey Corps leader, who wants them to capture at least three wild Pokemon that can be found in the Obsidian Fields.
The mission, according to Gamerant, also serves as an expanded tutorial that will teach them several of the game's key mechanics.
But to get this mission, according to Eurogamer, they need to accomplish the first mission entitled "In an Unfamiliar Land."
In this mission, Professor Laventon will ask them to throw Pokeballs to catch Cyndaquil, Oshawott, and Rowlet, the three Starter Pokemon of the Hisui region, while following him towards the Jubilife Village.
How to Clear 'The Galaxy Team's Entry Trial'
To clear the "The Galaxy Team's Entry Trial," players must talk to Captain Cyllene. To do this, they need to go towards the Galaxy Team Headquarters in Jubilife Village.
Once inside, talk to the NPC, and he will request to head out to the Obsidian Fields to capture the following Pokemon - Bidoof, Starly, and Shinx.
Before leaving, Captain Cyllene will give them a Survey Corps Satchel, which serves as storage for their Pokeball and other items. Then, as they exit from the headquarters, Professor Laventon will greet them, telling them they have to choose between Cyndaquil, Rowlet, and Oshawott for their Starter Pokemon.
After picking their Starter Pokemon, the professor will give them 20 Pokeballs to help them with the mission. Then, they have to travel towards the Obsidian Fields, but Volo, one of the village's merchants and a member of the Ginkgo Guild, stops them at the Front Gate to challenge them to a Pokemon Battle.
In the battle, Volo will use a Level 5 Togepi to battle their Starter Pokemon. To fight the Pokemon, they have to press the A button in their Nintendo Switch JoyCon. They should land at least five hits to defeat Volo's Togepi. After defeating him, they will receive 5 Potions.
After the Pokemon Battle, the travel continues to the Obsidian Fieldlands. They have to run towards the Aspiration Hill as they enter the field, where a wild Bidoof appears.
Once they see the wild Pokemon, they have to aim their Pokeball at it by holding down the ZL button to focus and the ZR button to aim. Once they have set the target, they have to throw the Pokeball towards the Bidoof to catch it.
After catching it, they can use their caught Bidoof to hunt for items by throwing the Pokeball at a tree to search for them. From there, they can pick up at least 2 Oran Berries.
Next, they have to look for a wild Starly. Once they see the wild Pokemon, they have to crouch down by pressing the B button and sneak up through the tall grass to catch it with their Pokeball.
Then, they have to search for a wild Shinx, but unlike the first two Pokemon, instead of catching it easily, they have to fight it first.
They have to choose the Pokemon to battle it and then throw the Pokeball containing it to Shinx. Considering that the wild Pokemon is an Electric-type, they have to use their captured Bidoof.
Once they have weakened Shinx, they have to throw a Pokeball at it to capture it. Then, they have to head back to the Survey Corps Headquarters to talk to Captain Cyllene once again. After talking to him, they will receive the Survey Corps Uniform and Survey Corps Sandals for them to put on.
