In Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, players have the freedom to create their own decks using thousands of cards available in the game, all of which they can obtain by either opening card packs or crafting them one by one.
With its evolving competitive metagame, a crossbreed between the Trading Card Game and Official Card Game rulings, most of them decide to invest in decks that could help them climb the ladder towards Platinum Rank and above.
There are many decks in Master Duel that they can build, ranging from those suitable for Beginners who are new to the card game to seasoned veterans who have the knowledge and experience.
The Best Decks in Master Duel
One of the decks that they can build in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel involved Eldlich, The Golden Lord, a Level 10 LIGHT Zombie Monster with 2500 ATK and 2800 DEF. This card can destroy a card on the Field as long as the controller discards it with a Spell or a Trap card from their hand to the Graveyard.
However, when this card is in the Graveyard, they can add it back to their hand by sending a Spell or Trap Card that they control to the Graveyard, and they can even special summon a Zombie-type monster from their hand to the field.
Considering that the card is a Zombie-type, they can Special Summon it as the effect resolves. Not only that, it will receive a 1000 ATK and DEF boost and an additional effect where card effects cannot destroy it.
This single card is the focus of every Eldlich Deck in Master Duel, which, according to Gamer Braves, are full of Trap Monsters, or Trap Cards that can be summoned as Monsters as Conquistador of the Golden Land and Huaquero of the Golden Land.
Both of the aforementioned cards may function as Trap Monsters and have effects that can control the Field itself. Conquistador can destroy a face-up card on the field if Eldlich is on the field, while Huaquero can banish one card from either player's Graveyard.
They can also be banished from the Graveyard to set either an Eldlixir of Scarlet Sanguine or an Edlixir of White Destiny directly from their Deck. These cards can also special summon Eldlich from their hand or Graveyard, and they can even set a Golden Land Spell or Trap Card from their Deck if they banish it from the Graveyard.
Because of these cards alone, Eldlich can be used in unison with other archetypes, or if they can, they can build a deck that is centered only to Eldlich and its Spell and Trap Cards.
A deck that they can do while focusing only to Eldich, The Golden Lord, according to International Business Times, is the Eldlich Permastun, which not only allows players to harness the power of Eldlich, but also to stop almost all of the meta decks in Master Duel courtesy of several floodgates that are in the Deck.
Cards such as Skill Drain can negate Monster Effects, while Gozen Match and Vanity's Emptiness controls how they summon. Cards such as Solemn Judgment can be added to negate not only the activated Spells and Traps, but also Monsters that will be summoned to the field. Finally, they can add Pot of Extravagance and Pot of Prosperity to draw power.
For its Extra Deck, they can add in Divine Arsenal AA-Zeus for board wipes, as well as Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav for its 4000 Life Points burn, and Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe to add the deck even more power thanks to its effect of gaining 2000 ATK and DEF, as well as attacking monsters multiple times depend on how many Xyz Materials it has.
If they want a budget-friendly deck that can save a few Gems and Crafting materials, they can consider playing Prank-Kids, an archetype that, according to VG247.com, focuses on easy and consistent combos.
The deck is focused around these four cards, Prank-Kids Fansies, Prank-Kids Dropsies, Prank-Kids Lampsies, and Prank-Kids Rocksies.
Players can flood the field with the aforementioned cards, which they will provide themselves with materials that they can use to summon monsters from the Extra Deck, including Prank-Kids Battle Butler, a Level 10 WIND Thunder Fusion Monsters with 3000 ATK and 300 DEF.
The said monster can destroy all monsters in the field once they tributed it from the field, and it can target a non-Fusion Monster in their Graveyard if their opponent's card destroys this card.
To make it possible, they can add in cards such as Polymerization and Prank-Kids Pandemonium, an archetypal Fusion Quick Spell Card that they can activate even during the opponent's turn.
They will also need to add Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, a hand trap that can negate cards that adds a card from the deck to hand or special summons a monster from the deck.
Finally, if they want to build a Master Duel version of a deck that is playable even in real-life paper play, they can consider Bird Up! or a deck combining two popular archetypes in Modern Yu-Gi-Oh! - Tri-Brigade and Lyrilusc.
The said deck combines the gameplay of the former, which allows its players to summon Link Monsters from the Extra Deck by banishing materials from their Graveyard, and the latter, which they can swarm to summon their Xyz Monsters from the Extra Deck.
According to Dot Esports, almost all of the core cards in the deck are either Common or Rare, which means players who want to build the deck will have an easy time crafting them.
If they have extra materials, they can craft the Extra Deck cards needed in the deck, such as Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess, a Link-4 Link Monster that can negate card effects at the cost of 800 of its ATK, and Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty, a Link-3 WIND Link Monster that not only cannot be targeted with card effects, but it can also special summon Winged Beast monsters.
