'Rust Console Edition' Patch 1.23 Update: What Changes, Fixes Players could Expect

The developers of Rust just released the patch notes for the Patch 1.23 Update of the online survival game's Console Edition, revealing a list of changes and bug fixes that they will implement before the next wipe, or when the game data, including those for the player, will be reset.

The said list of changes, although very short, will be focused on the game's AI, player movement, and building range, while the patch update will fix several bugs that affect its gameplay.

Changes and Fixes

As mentioned earlier, the Patch 12.3 Update will bring in a small list of changes to Rust's Console Version. According to the patch notes posted on their website, the said patch update will increase the allowed building range for players to allow themselves to build the Supermarket monument.

It will also allow them to use gestures in several ways than before, while they are now required to hold the Pick Up button to grab several things in the game. This change will help them stop any accidental pickups from happening.

The patch update will also adjust the game's Bear AI for them not to attack players who are running around them, while it will change the Rocket Launcher's deploy time from 6 seconds to 3 seconds. This is to match the deploy time of the said weapon in the game's PC version.

Finally, the Patch 12.3 Update fixes the disappearing Radiation logo when entering areas with high radiation.

On the other hand, the Patch 12.3 Update will also fix several issues that cause game crashes in Rust's Console Edition. According to MP1st.com, the said patch update will fix a crash issue that can occur while players are trying to connect to the game's server.

It will also fix a crash issue that can be occurred when players are kicked from the game for being idle or inactive for a few minutes.

The patch update will also fix other bugs in the game, including a bug that causes players to clip through the ceiling of the Gas Station monument.

It will also fix a bug that causes the laser sight of several weapons to become invisible to other players and the bug that causes the corpses to clip into the terrain when they are spawned in shallow water.

Other issues that have been fixed caused by bugs in the game were weapons--the animation for the Spas-12 shotgun starts before pulling the charging handle when equipped from the quick access menu--and shadows holding an M39 rifle even if the weapon is on the inventory.

The patch update will also fix an issue that causes the Planters to become unavailable after the pumpkins grow over them, while it will also fix the bug that causes the ADS sensitivity to not work properly in the game when a weapon has two or more attachments in it.

It will also fix other bugs such as one that causes animal bites to not deal bleeding damage, another that usually occurs when a projectile from a bow or a nail gun usually sticks to the target player's model, even after it respawned, and another that allows them to use the chainsaw during the reload animation.

Finally, the patch update will fix a bug that causes melee weapons that are stuck on a player to disappear once it died, as well as a bug that causes the arrows to sometimes not become visible from their perspective, a bug that causes them to lose their ability to jump when someone dies on top of their head, and a bug that causes any built structures to be not upgraded properly.
