'Animal Crossing New Horizons' Gyroid Guide: Where to Get, How to Use It

Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Version 2.0 Update has brought in new additional content that makes its players come back to their islands in order to experience them.

These include new items that they can use to redesign the layouts of their houses such as new furniture and decorations.

One of which are the Gyroids, or the Haniwa in the game's Japanese release. These unusual furniture items, which is based on the haniwa statues in Japan, can make funky yet unique sounds by tooting and tingling to the music that they will be playing, while they are dancing to its tune.

Aside from being a fixture for their houses, these Gyroids also appeared in the open-world simulation game as one of its non-playable characters (NPC) in the form of Lloid, who acts as a construction foreman overseeing the making of their island's buildings.

How to Get the Gyroids

In order to have their own Gyroids for them to decorate their homes in New Horizons, according to Polygon, players need to take a boat trip with Kapp'n, who is at the island's Pier.

In exchange for 1,000 Nook Miles, he will take them to an island where they can find usual crafting materials.

As they set foot into the said island, they will notice X-shaped holes in the ground. This is where they will dig using their shovels to get the "Gyroid Fragments" that are buried under. They can also get a Gyroid Fragment when they encounter Brewster while they are unlocking The Roost.

Once they have the fragments, according to Distractify, they will bury them again under the ground in an area within their island and water them just like what they are doing for their seedlings until steam comes out from the ground.

Next, they will wait for the next day to revisit the spot, where they will dig it up until they will see a fully formed random Gyroid. According to Animal Crossing World, there 36 Gyroids that they can collect, each can produce unique sounds.

They can also get these statues by digging to the ground after the island experience rains, but according to CNet, this might happen only under certain circumstances. They can get a special Gyroid called the "Brewstoid" by purchasing enough cups of coffee at The Roost.

But no matter what ways they will find them, according to Nintendo Life, they will get 300 Nook Miles once they find their first Gyroid, as well as the "Rain-Soaked" and "Gyroid" titles. They will also have the chance to get the "Gyroid Getter" title if they collect at least 20 of these statues.

Once they have these statues, they can either use them as it is as a decoration for their homes and put it on their floors, walls, and beside or on fixtures such as bath tubs or stoves. They can also customize them at their DIY Benches, changing their appearances to suit their tastes.
