In Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, players can restore cars that are available, ranging from classic Americana muscle cars to compact cars to modern sports cars, using more than 4,000 car parts.
These cars can either be from those that are already installed in the game, from the downloadable content (DLC) car packs, or from the Steam Workshop where they can download car mods.
One of the said car mods is the one for the VUHL 05, a lightweight sports car made by VUHL, a Mexican automotive company, from 2015 to 2020.
How to Restore a VUHL 05
Once they have downloaded the file for the car mod from the Steam Workshop, and pasted in the game's folder, they can find, and buy, the VUHL 05 at the Junkyard, the Car Auction, and the Car Salon.
Once they have purchased the sports car, according to Boblas' YouTube video, they will wash the body and the interior in the Car Wash, then they will move to one of the Car Lift that are in the Garage.
From there, they will drain whatever oil that is remaining inside of its engine using the Oil Drain machine, then they will drain the remaining fluids such as the brake fluid, the coolant, and the power steering fluid using the Drain Tool, which they can access from the car's pie menu.
Once they finished draining, they will disassemble the whole sports car, and get the parts that will be repaired and replaced, until what is remaining on the Car Lift is the body frame, which they need to repair using the Wielding Machine and have its interior detailed.
Then, they will repair the car parts they can still use in the restoration project by placing them on Repair Tables that are in the Workshop. From there, they will play a minigame where they will hit the green tabs in order to fully fix the said parts. They will also need to recharge its battery, if there is one.
On the other hand, the parts that cannot be repaired will be sold instead for additional Credit, which they can use to buy replacement parts, or Performance Parts if they want to increase the car's Tuning percentage. If they bought it in the Junkyard, they will also need to buy for its missing parts.
Once they got the repaired and replaced parts, they will start reassembling the whole VUHL 05, starting with its engine, which is a V6 DOHC AKZ.
In order to build the said engine on the Engine Stand, they will need the engine block, the crankshaft, the pistons with their rings, the crankshaft bearing caps, the rod caps, the oil pan, the oil filter, the flywheel, the clutch plate, the clutch pressure plate, and the clutch release bearing.
They will also need the engine heads, the camshafts, the camshaft bearings caps, the engine head covers, the spark plugs, the ignition coils, the exhaust manifolds, the thermostat, the intake manifolds, the fuel rails, the fuel filter, and the throttle.
They will also need the power steering pump, the alternator, the arm, the cam gears, the water pump, the idler rollers, the serpentine belts, the belt tensioner, and the timing covers.
Once they finished building the whole engine, they will remove it from the Engine Stand, then they will install it in the engine bay using the Engine Pulley.
Then, they will install the car's internal parts such as the gearbox, the starter, the battery, the reservoirs, the brake servo, the radiator with the fan, the air filter with the base, cover and clips, the fuse box and cover with the new relays and fuses, the ABS pump and module, and the fuel tank and pump.
Then, they will install the rest of the parts, including those for the exhaust pipes, the suspension, and the braking system, as well as the tires and rims, the body kit, the windshield, the side mirror, the lights, and the parts for the interior such as the steering wheel and seats.
After they finished reassembling the whole sports car, they will fill the engine, the reservoirs, and the brake servo with a new batch of oil and other fluids, then they will paint the body with the color of their choosing in the Paint Booth.
Then, they will move it to the Test Path room to realign the wheels and light, as well as to test the newly-installed braking system.
Then, they will move it to the Dyno Test room to tune up the gears in the gearbox and do a dyno test to the newly-built engine in order to check its performance.
Once they are satisfied with the results, they can now test drive their own VUHL 05, which they can either sell it for additional profit or include it in their in-game car collection.
