In Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, players can restore cars that are available, ranging from classic Americana muscle cars to compact cars to modern sports cars, using more than 4,000 car parts.

These cars can either be from those that are already installed in the game, from the downloadable content (DLC) car packs, or from the Steam Workshop where they can download car mods.

One of the said car mods is the one for the Camaro Z28, a 1980 model of the Chevrolet Camaro muscle car, and a part of the Second Generation of the said car line.

Once they have downloaded the file for the car mod, and pasted it in the game's folder, players can now find, and buy, the Camaro Z28 in the Junkyard, the Barn, and the Car Auction.

Once they have purchased it, according to Pityku Custom's YouTube video, they will wash the body and the interior in the Car Wash, then they will move it to one of the Car Lifts that are in the Garage.

From there, they will drain whatever oil that is remaining inside the engine using the Oil Drain machine, then they will drain the rest of its fluids that are in their reservoirs such as the brake fluid, the coolant, the power steering fluid, and the windshield washer fluid using the Drain Tool.

After they drained the oil and the fluids, they will disassemble the whole car, and get the parts that they need to repair and replace, until what is left on the Car Lift is the body frame, which they need to repair using the Wielding Machine, and have its interior detailed.

Next, they will need to repair the car parts that they can still use in the restoration project by placing them on the Repair Tables, all of which are in the Garage. From there, they will play a minigame where they will hit the green tabs in order to fully fix said parts.

On the other hand, the parts that cannot be repaired anymore will be sold instead for additional Credit, which they can use to buy new replacement parts. If they bought the car from the Junkyard, they can also buy the missing parts.

Once they have the repaired and replaced parts, they can start the reassembly for the Camaro Z28, starting with rebuilding its engine, which is a V8 OHV. Depending on their reference, they can swap it with either a V8 2carb OHV, a V8 OHV MAG, a V8 1carb OHV, a V8 2carb OHV Supercharged, or a V8 OHV 6P.

In order to build it on the Engine Stand, they will need the engine block, the crankshaft, the camshaft, the pistons with their rings, the crankshaft bearing caps, the rod caps, the oil pan, the oil filter, the flywheel, the clutch plate, the clutch pressure plate, and the clutch release bearing.

They will also need the engine heads, the valve push rods, the rocker arms, the engine head covers, the exhaust manifolds, the spark plugs, the fuel filter, the intake manifold, the carburetor, and the air filter with the base and cover.

They will also need the cam gear, the timing chain, the timing cover, the arms, the alternator, the power steering pump, the water pump with the pulley, the crankshaft pulley, the idler rollers, the serpentine belt, and the radiator fan.

Once they finished building the engine, they will remove it from the Engine Stand, then they will install it in the car's engine bay using the Engine Pulley.

Then, they will install the internal parts such as the fuel tank and pump, the gearbox, the starter, the reservoirs, the battery, the brake servo, the fuse box and cover with the new relays and fuses, and the radiator.

Afterwards, they will install the rest of the parts, including those for the exhaust pipes, the suspension, and the braking system, as well as the tires and rims, the body kit, the lights, the windshield and other glass panels for the windows, and the parts for the interior such as the steering wheel and the seats.

Once they finished reassembling the whole car, they will fill the engine and reservoirs with a new batch of oil and other fluids, then they will paint the body with the color of their choice in the Paint Booth.

Then, they will move it to the Test Path room to realign the wheels and the lights, as well as to perform a path test to check the newly-installed braking system.

Afterwards, they will move it to the Dyno Test room to tune up the gears in the gearbox and to do a dyno test to see the performance of the newly-built engine.

Once they are satisfied with the results, they can test drive their own Camaro Z28, which they can either sell for additional profit or add it to their in-game collection.
