To celebrate the welcome of the year 2022, as well as part of their Season of Heritage, Niantic will give the Trainers of Pokemon Go the opportunity to get several in-game rewards by accomplishing a series of tasks in the XP Challenge Timed Research for a limited time only.
The said research tasks, which will give away items such as Poke Balls, Pokemon encounters, Berries, and Stardusts, can only be accessed to those who has tickets for its incoming Pokemon Go Tour: Johto, which will be happening within this February.
How to Access the XP Challenge
As mentioned earlier, in order for Trainers to participate in the XP Challenge Timed Research, they need to have the ticket for the Pokemon Go Tour: Johto event.
According to Attack of the Fanboy, they will purchase the said ticket in the in-game store before January 10th for $11.99.

Once they have the ticket, not only that they will have an access to the said Timed Research, but also to the Catch Challenge, which is another set of Timed Research Tasks which they can take during the event, as well as an opportunity to catch Celebi in a Special Research Task.
Trainers will have the chance to clear the XP Challenge Timed Research in Pokemon Go in order to get in-game rewards until January 31st.
How to Clear the Timed Research
In total, there are fifteen tasks that Trainers need to clear in order to accomplish the XP Challenge Timed Research.
In order to do this, according to Eurogamer, they need to accumulate a given total amount of XP by doing normal in-game activities such as logging in on a daily basis, catching Pokemon, participating in Raids, increasing their Friendship Levels, and completing other Timed and Special Research Tasks.
In order to help them towards the completion of the said tasks, especially if they want to hasten it before the event ends, they can use Lucky Eggs as they can double the XP earned.
However, the XP that they will earn for this Timed Research will not stack each other, which means that if they if they receive a certain amount of XP when they are few amounts away from completing a task, the remaining XP will not count as progress towards the next step.
According to Future Game Releases, if they earn 1,000 XP, they will reward themselves 15 Poke Balls, while earning 6,000 XP will reward them a Lure Module. If they earn a total of 15,000 XP, they will receive an encounter with Cranidos, while earning 25,000 XP will give them 15 Razz Berries.
If they earn 35,000 XP, they will receive 25 Poke Balls, while earning 47,500 XP will award them an ecounter with Porygon in the wild, and earning 60,000 XP will give them 10 Great Balls.
Earning 70,000 XP will reward them 15 Pinap Berries, while earning them 90,000 XP will reward them an encounter with Shedinja. Earning 110,000 XP, on the other hand, will give them 25 Ultra Balls, while earning 130,000 XP will give them an encounter with Togetic.
Earning 150,000 XP will give them 3 Golden Razz Berries, while earning 175,000 XP will give them an encounter with Goomy.
Finally, earning 200,000 XP will reward them with 2,500 Stardust, while collecting a total of 240,000 XP will reward them a Star Piece and a Goomy Hat, which they can use for their in-game Avatar.
