In Icarus, players will not only do several tasks such as gathering resources, building shelters, crafting equipment, and defending attacks from wild animals in order for them to survive, but they will also accomplish a set of Prospect Missions in order for them to progress in the online survival game.
One of them is the "Death Ray: Scan" Prospect Mission, where they must traverse the Desert biome in order to find several locations to scan using a radar.
Preparations
Much like other Prospect Missions in Icarus, they need to prepare the tools they need for the Death Ray: Scan, including basic ones that they will use to defend themselves, to hunt for food, and to build their temporary shelters.
According to Techraptor, they will need to craft a pickaxe, an axe, a bow with its arrows, and a spear, as well as a wood repair hammer.
They will also need to craft the wooden pieces for their shelter, as well as the bedroll, which will act as their spawn point, cloth armor for added defense, and bandages to heal themselves.
Considering that they are travelling to the Desert biome, they will also need to craft waterskins that will be filled up with water.
Once they have prepared everything that they need, they will go straight to their dropship, which will take them to the said biome in order to proceed with the Prospect Mission
How to Clear
Once they are in the drop-off area, according to Quests' YouTube video, they will go south to the point that is in between the quadrants N7 and O7. They follow the cliffs towards the said point until they saw a supply crate that contains the Radar.
Once they got the radar in their Inventory, they must run towards the point within L7, which is west of the location where the supply crate is located. But before going to the said point, they must first build their first temporary shelter, then set-up the bedroll from the inside. This will act as their first spawn point.
They can also hunt for food by killing several wild animals in the Desert biome. Aside from the meat, they will also get leather, which they can use to craft things like armor and waterskins.
After resting and securing their first spawn point, they will traverse towards the said point to proceed with the mission. Once they are in the area, they will set up their radar, then they will interact to it in order to activate.
While waiting for the radar to finish scanning the area, they will defend it against wild animals, including mammoths and wild boars, while restoring its power in order to continue its scan.
Once the scan is complete, they will collect the radar, and proceed to the second scanning point, which is within M2, or north from the drop-off zone.
Much like the first one, they will set the radar up in the location, then activate it. Once activated, they must defend against the wild animals who are stalking in the area.
Once the scanning is complete, they will go towards the final scanning point for the Prospect Mission, which is within J3, or south of the second scanning point. Again, they will set-up the radar to scan the whole place, while defending it from the wild animals.
Once they finished scanning the said location, they will run towards the drop-off point, then ride inside the dropship to end the Death Ray: Scan Prospect Mission.
