Infamous Second Son PS4 Update On the Way, Adds Requested Features and Fixes

Infamous Second Son was the first major exclusive released for the PlayStation 4, received positively on its March 21 launch. Now that we're a couple weeks out, Sucker Punch is giving us some details on the first update to the game since the day-one patch, due out in around two weeks. The update will add some fixes, as well as some much-requested gameplay features.

Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Flemming took to the PlayStation blog to let players know additions to Infamous: Second Son are coming and what they can expect. He lists three main new features that will be added in the update: an option to change the time of day, the ability to turn the HUD on or off, and the introduction of a frame rate lock option.

Flemming says the time of day option was a very popular request from fans, and once you beat the game "a new entry will appear on the options menu to allow you to select the time of day". The HUD on and off toggle is pretty self-explanatory, and he mentions that players who love taking screenshots in particular will appreciate being able to manually get rid of the on-screen user interface.

The final feature he mentions, being able to lock the game's frame rate at 30FPS so it does not go over, is something that he says they don't prefer internally, but understands some players "find it distressing". They've added the option to please everyone, and it's good to see a developer listening to its fans--this is important to Sucker Punch, according to Flemming.

He wrote, "We also want you to know that we listen to your complaints. Some big, some small, but we take them all to heart. We never want to lose sight of how important it is that we listen to all of you. We can always be better."
