2014 FIFA World Cup Game Demo Out Now for Xbox 360 and PS3

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Demo Out Now for Xbox 360 and PS3

EA Sports has today released a demo for 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, their upcoming tie-in to this summer's big international football tournament. We've been getting more info about the title and I ranked FIFA 14's national teams in anticipation of the tournament, but now you can try the game for yourself.

It's available on Xbox Live now with a Gold account, and will be available later today on PSN. The download comes in at 1.66GB, so it shouldn't take too long to download with a decent connection.

Obviously the demo is limited compared to what the full game will offer, but you can play Kickoff mode with Brazil, USA, England, Ivory Coast, Japan, Australia, Mexico, or New Zealand. For those who aren't familiar, Kickoff is the regular one-off exhibition match you can play with or against other players or AI.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will have a plethora of game modes as EA Sports attempts to prove the game is worth the full $60 price tag they're putting on it. The last World Cup tie-in was a good, successful entry--the Euro 2012 game was not. The developers are choosing to offer a complete stand-alone game that they can upgrade as opposed to DLC that they can't add much to, according to their reasoning.

The full game will be available on April 17 for Xbox 360 and PS3 only. EA cited the large install base on the last-gen consoles as a reason for excluding Xbox One and PS4, stating that it would not be worth the development time and costs.
