Ever since Flappy Bird was shut off last month (although perhaps not for good), there have been plenty of imitators surfacing to try to fill the void left by the little bird-fish-thing and its green pipe obstacles.
Well, if you've got a deep appreciation for poop jokes and a Flappy Bird itch that needs scratching, check out Poopy Birdies, the Flappy clone that blatantly rips off the original and openly acknowledges it. But with poop.
"Are you ready to laugh your ass off?" Poopy developer eBattalion asked in its press release today. "This week eBattalion has delivered a quality Flappy Bird style game, as promised. The iOS game previously known as Flappy Birdies is now titled Poopy Birdies. Poopy Birdies brings to market the extreme challenge players expect, and adds some childish humour to boot."
I of course had to try this, and I can tell you this much -- it's Flappy Bird with poop. The standard tap-tap-tap controls return from the source material, but a double tap lets you poop on innocent bystanders below (who also laugh at you when you crash). You also collect turds along the way, although I'm still not really sure why.
Poopy Birdies is available exclusively for you Apple folks on iOS, so be sure to pick it up at the App Store if you're into flying and pooping.
