The feud between Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns is far from over. Monday Night RAW general manager Mick Foley announced the two superstars will duke it out one more time for the WWE Universal Championships and that match will happen at Royal Rumble 2017 on January 29 in San Antonio, Texas.
And to make sure Chris Jericho won't be interfering ever again, Foley included a stipulation requiring Jericho to step inside a shark cage which will be suspended mid-air throughout the duration of the title match.
Here's WWE.com's presser on the big money rematch:
"After being cheated out of the WWE Universal Championship at Roadblock: End of the Line, Roman Reigns will have another opportunity to dethrone Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble 2017.
What's different this time is the Superstar responsible for denying Reigns' victory against Owens, KO's best friend Chris Jericho, will be suspended 20 feet above the ring in a locked shark cage.
The stipulation, introduced by Raw General Manager Mick Foley, effectively factors Jericho out of the equation on Sunday, Jan. 29. Jericho attacked Owens during the title contest at Roadblock: End of the Line, and though it at first appeared to be an act of betrayal, the ambush caused Reigns to be disqualified and allowed Owens to retain the championship."
Again, Roman Reigns had an opportunity to become only the second superstar to hold the United State championship and world title belt simultaneously in the main event of Road Block: End of the Line last Sunday.
Reigns was in control of the match against the Prizefighter, when Jericho came out of nowhere and delivered a code breaker on Owens, prompting the referee to call a disqualification.
Everybody thought Y2J's action just gave his payback to Owens, who earlier in the night cost Jericho the match against Seth Rollins. However, it was nothing but a plot by Jericho in order for Owens to keep the WWE Universal championship.
