In true telenovela fashion, the highly followed sophomore season of The CW's "Jane the Virgin" brought about a shocking event thanks to the mysterious gun-for-hire who shot Michael (Brett Dier) right on his wedding day, while Jane (Gina Rodriguez) was about to walk down the aisle. Some fans saw it as the end of the Jane-Michael-Rafael love triangle, while others just saw it as a ploy to toy with fans' emotions.
It seems as though it would all be just a bad dream like Mateo's abduction back in "Jane the Virgin" season 1 finale, which was resolved early in season 2. The people over at Entertainment Weekly and those following the cast and crew on social media have noticed that Dier, who plays Michael on the show, is present in the first table read for "Jane the Virgin" season 3, which comes back to The CW this fall.
The cast have reunited to do the first ever table read for "Jane the Virgin" season 3, which supposedly sees Jane and Michael happily married, if not for that (fatal?) gun shot that left viewers wondering how on earth Sin Rostro or Rose managed to walk around as Susannah and shoot Michael. What's scary is how, in the earlier seasons of the show, the narrator let slip that Michael "loved Jane til his last breath." Does this mean that he's officially off the hook (or show)?
It doesn't seem like it. In fact, Dier was seen alongside the rest of the cast during the table read, and it seems that he isn't just sticking around for a finale goodbye to Jane or for a ghost apparition scene. Moreover, fans have to remember that "Jane the Virgin" has a knack for bringing people back to life (see: Sin Rostro), so it would seem natural for Michael to possibly lose consciousness for a couple of episodes, recuperate, and get back on the horse to hunt down Sin Rostro, now that he knows she's very alive.
The drama doesn't end there for the Villanuevas, as Petra's evil twin sister is also walking around as her imposter. What does she have in mind for Rafael, now that she has her eyes on him? "Jane the Virgin" returns this fall to The CW.
