Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance trailer Is Simple:#MakeItRight

The tone for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is simple: atone for the past by cutting it all down. Showcasing a war-torn country followed by two different cyborg antagonists, it seems like Raiden isn't alone when it comes to being a mechanically enhanced ninja with an electric sword.

While not a lot of the plot is given up, aside from what looks like a Bullet Time-esque mode to get the most out of your slashing, the message is simple: Make It Right. It even gets its own hashtag as Raiden is searching for redemption after the fall of the patriots in Metal Gear Solid 2. The throw-away lines that "in a world of asymmetric war, where you're fighting, it's hard to know what you're fighting for" and "after the fall of the sons of the patriots, cyborg technology runs rampent and information flows freely," it's weird to comprehend where in the Metal Gear universe this takes place. Gameplay wise, this looks almost nothing like the series and everything like Bayonetta with the acrobatics, slowed down attacks and even events like Raiden running up a demolished vertical highway.

We'll wait for e3 before completely being excited, but the trailer ended on a very interesting promise: an "early" 2013 release date. January-February are becoming so much more interesting these days.
