Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes Gets Permanent Price Drop To $20 Across All Consoles Before Phantom Pain Release

Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes Gets Permanent Price Drop To $20 Before Phantom Pain Release

Konami has announced today that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is now available for a mere $19.99 for every single console version- PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Hideo Kojima Explains Why Ground Zeroes Doesn't Have a Platinum Trophy

This applies to the boxed retail versions only, so the price drop might not be reflected in the PSN and XBox Live digital stores.

That's a nice price point for the game, which originally rang in at $30 for the PS3/Xbox 360 versions and $40 for the next-gen Xbox One and PS4 versions.

Ground Zeroes Will Hit PC This December With 4K Resolution

We loved Ground Zeroes quite a bit and you can read our review right here, but there's no doubt that the game was lacking in content. It's one of the most replayable games of the year, for sure, but there's just one location to explore. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will offer a massive open world to explore when it hits sometime next year (a release date still hasn't been confirmed) but Ground Zeroes is a much smaller and more contained story, just a snack before the full meal.

Those of you looking forward to the full experience next year will undoubtedly like to jump in on the game now, as the progress you make in Ground Zeroes will carry over to Phantom Pain

While we're in quite a busy season right now with great games being thrown at us left and right, this price point makes the game a must-buy, especially considering you can play a mission in an hour or two in between longer games.
